omg, this is the Kylin M from Snoppa, rebranded under Benro. DO NOT GET IT!!!
If you think Zhiyun doesn't provide enough support, then trust me, Snoppa provide even less support than Zhiyun!!! Plus they had tons of problem with this gimbal. I mean Tons!!!! For $200, I would go with any other brand that's out there!! Zhiyun M2, Feiyu G6 max, Weebill s, Feiyu Ak2000, Ak2000s, I have used all those before, any of those are better than the Benro R1/Kylin M. This is from personal experience. Hope it helps.

Would be great if that center isn't covering the screen. That was the main draw back of the other cheaper stabilizers.

So easy to stay under that with modern mirrorless systems... even full frame. Use a small prime lens and you're fine. Most mirrorless bodies are under 1.5lbs and full frame pancake primes can be as little as 85 grams.

You don't need a crazy sharp lens for video work.

Does anyone have any experience with Zhiyun gimbals? I am not a professional user but their stabilizers are less than half the cost.

They are good but I believe you are comparing their model designed for a phone. I wouldn't buy either without watching some YouTube reviews.

It depends on the camera and the model gimbal. I have a Crane M, and it was able to hold my old GX85 and kit lens, 25mm or 14mm, but couldn't control focus. I then got a Sony a7iii, and even with the 50mm, it won't balance, so there's no point in even powering it up with the Sony, however, I believe with the right connector, it would be able to control focus on the Sony even without a focus puller.

So I may look at one of their newer and larger models, because for 'handheld' detail shots, or attaching to a monopod for fake jib shots, gimbals are great.

There are a ton of complaints about their software, me included. They really do not care at all about supporting the consumer after your purchase. Personally, I'd never buy a Zhiyun again - only DJI.

I bought a Feiyu-Tech AK2000 when it was $180 from B&H and it's been great. Superb reviews on YouTube w/ just a few minor flaws. Probably the best bang for your buck gimbal out there, especially when on sale.

Fake jib as in "just-in bieber" shots?
