Only reason is if you want the best competitive gaming performance available. Single-core performance is the only reason Intel is relevant these days.
AMD fits probably 99% of user cases these days. The 3600 is and has been an insane deal for the price, especially considering the compatibility their chipsets deliver. The only people getting Intel still are either misinformed or sponsored IMO.
Can I use this to replace my dieing motherboard? Lost 2 sata ports and 1 usb wont sync. It's for a 4970k intel chip though, so I dont think I can just swap this in....

No, you cannot swap motherboards. You'll need a 9th gen Intel CPU as well as new DDR4 ram.

Damn, guess im keeping this sucker a while longer. When you add in ram and chip, its in the 400 to 500's, and I'd rather not spend that when all the other components are doing great, except the damn motherboard.
