I have this laptop 256gb ssd,12gb ram.Paid $516,and I love it! Fast,nice looking laptop...Look like 14" laptop,but it's 15.6"-VERY SLIM BEZEL AROUND SCREEN!Also light weight!
I don't care about lighted keyboard!

Do you guys have any recommendations for something better at this pricepoint? I just can't find anything else at this time and my laptop died a few days ago.

ASUS does not provide brightness in their specs probably because most of them are 250nit panels. 45% NTSC.

Their IPS panels are pretty good though if you get a model with IPS panels. ASUS also makes it difficult to determine if a model has IPS or not while they sell same models with both IPS and non-IPS. Stopped using IPS in their description. Just looking for wideview in specs may not be sufficient. Only if they have the 178 degree wide view spec can you be sure of getting an IPS panel.
