This regularly sells for around $1400.
This seems to stack with the 10% military/veteran discount (worked for me by ordering online).

For those of you interested in running this off of Natural Gas I have been in touch with Century Fuel Products and they informed me this tri-fuel kit should work with the engine/carb for the XP13000EH:

The unit you're comparing to has a 457cc engine. The XP13000EH is a 500cc.
Your comparison would be more appropriate to the XP12000EH with the 457cc engine:

You should consider the amperage output (for 120 and 240V depending on your use) for both gasoline/propane at peak and running wattage. The "efficiency" or fuel used over a certain period of time only tells half the story...

Unless an engine is running at a considerably lower RPM I doubt you would see a drastic real world difference in efficiency wit h all other variables being equal.

8.3gallons per 6.6 hours gets you 19.8 hours of runtime for 25 Gallons
With the one you mention.XP12000EH
STILL A GAS GUZZLER.
8Gal capacity Run Time at 1/2 Load (Hours) 8.83
Just proves my point...How INEFFICIENT these units really are.

It makes a HUGE Difference.
First hand experience.

I have a different Duromax that is rated 4 gallons/8 hours @ 1/2 load. In the real world, I got 13 hours consistently. I was running (4) 25 cubic foot freezers on it (among other things), so surely I was using at least 1/2 load. It could be those specs aren't accurate.
BTW, I was sharing the generator with another family for the 9 days we had no power after Sandy. For the most part, we took a 1/2 day each, so my freezers were not powered on the other 1/2 of the day - so you can bet that when they were on the generator, the compressors were running most of the time.
Regardless, if you are buying one of these, make sure you have adequate fuel storage, because when the power is out at your home, it's probably out at the nearby gas stations also. If you will be travelling hours to buy gas, and waiting on mile long lines like we did in the Sandy aftermath, you'll want to minimize the number of trips you'll need to make.
If you think you'll be syphoning gas from your car gas tank for your generator, if your car is a Honda, think again. Honda's (we found out the hard way) have a something between the filler neck and gas tank that prevents you from getting the syphon hose into the gas tank.

Do you believe the fuel ratings that a vehicle manufacturer publishes or do you rely on some other sources (fuelly, personal experience, friends, etc - real world examples)?
The point is that any manufacturer has a vested interest to publish great specs...and i'm not saying they are incorrect. I'm simply saying - think for yourself.
There is no "standard" as far as i'm aware for the testing of efficiency with a generator. Example; oil weights, altitudes, octane ratings, stability of the test load, environmental temperature, could all affect the performance.
For anyone interested in a generator to backup their home in an emergency, I have been extremely pleased with the firman one often on sale at costco. It's 7500W dual fuel (this is a must IMO, gas isn't always available in an emergency or outage) that goes as low as $500 on sale at costco (I got it for $550). It runs my entire ~2k sq ft house (boiler system, A/C, 2 fridges, lights, TV, etc., obv not all at once) flawlessly. No flickering lights, starts right up, etc. Best part is that Costco is great about returns and assured me that if I ever had an issue with it, they would simply take it back or let me exchange it for a new one if they still have them in stock.
Just an idea if you're looking for a generator.
