Tomb raider definite edition , Doom 3, Burnout Remastered, Ori & the blind forest, Titanfall 2, and Strider. Most are $5 except for Strider which is $3.
If you don't have GamePass get Ori. It's a great platformer.

Strider is not a MV. Lol Try Salt & Sanctuary, Sundered, Headlander, Hollw Knight, and Axoim Verge. All great games!
I would disagree. 2013 strider game has all of the key elements of a metroidvania game: 1) action 2) expansive 2d gamescape requiring multiple visits (nonlinear play and c) requirement to upgrade your weapon and other abilities to progress. Sure, there's no gun but Castlevania didn't have that either.
q: any of these windows play anywhere or purely Xbox?

Yeah. There are numerous videos on what elements constitute the classification.
I've played several over the years, but only a few are memorable enough to revisit. Recently replayed Dust and Guacamelee. It's been about 5 years since I last played Strider. It's a fun one.
a: Most all MS first party titles are. Almost all others aren't.

Could have fooled me. I completed strider and thought it was a MV game.
