I bought this few weeks ago from Costco with it was for $499. It's a decent tv for $500-600 price range. However the TCL goes brighter and if I find the TCL in the same price range, I'll likely return the Vizio M series and go with the TCL instead.

This is not a bad TV, just the peak brightness in HDR is very low and doesn't do justice to the awesome wide color gamut that this tv has.

Are you sure you got the M model? I've had my eye on this for a while and the cheapest it's been that I saw was $599 at Costco.

I actually went with TCL 6 series Best Buy open box for 600 but this seems like a solid deal.

Bought for $499 few weeks ago, so far so good with it. Using in basement, gets plenty bright for me down there. Has Disney+, Netflix, YouTube tv, prime vid apps built in which all have ran smoothly for me.

I bought this same TV from Costco yesterday for the same price. Had to replace a 65" TCL 4 series that my son broke. Originally picked up a 5 series from Best Buy for 500 but I was completely unhappy with it. It had very bad DSE and did not seem like an upgrade over the 4 series at all. I wanted to try out the TCL 6 series and also was eying up this M series quantum. Decided on the M series since the 6 series is not in stock anywhere locally at the moment and is also $130-$150 more than this M series.

I am happy with this purchase all things considered. I am not happy about having to replace the 4 series at all but this was at least a decent upgrade. Has really nice blacks and is much brighter than the 4 series. HDR is decent on it but it does lack peak brightness to really pop. Took me a little while to get settings just right but it looks really good now and only has some slight banding when doing DSE tests on YouTube that are not noticeable at all in normal viewing. Our living room gets a lot of natural light and this TV gets bright enough to overcome it where the 4 series struggled on some days. Smartcast is a joke and I miss having Roku built in but I had an extra Firestick 4k laying around so I am using that instead. Had to manually set the HDMI input to be able to display HDR correctly from an external source which confused me at first but after getting through all of the setup it really does look good. If you absolutely need a TV right now as we did, I would definitely recommend the M series if you have an external streaming box to use or are planning on purchasing one. If you can wait I would also check out the TCL 6 series when they come back in stock or if you really want a great HDR experience you can step up to the Vizio P series quantum X that is also on sale at Costco and is a great deal. I didn't have 1000 dollars to spend on a TV or the ability to wait to pick something up so with that taken into account I am happy with the M series and the price it currently is at best buy and Costco.

I bought this as a replacement to the Hisense that died on me. The picture quality is very nice for the price. I bought it for the $499 Costco had it on sale but pricematched at BBY. I think it's worth it. I wanted the TCL but that was $750.

While the picture quality is great and they say chromecast (the OS) has been updated, it is the dumbest TV interface I've used. It's fairly quick. But it lacks apps, the USB function (how I play movies) quits if you pause for more than a min and seems a little choppy. There is a lack of apps compared to Roku and Android TV. You can't get ESPN, Sling, VLC Media player and others.

Overall for $500 I'm happy with it. I'll be even happier if I can pick up a Roku Ultra on a good sale.

I do have a question for the experts here. If I have some longer 4k HDR videos on my hard drive, what is the best way to play them on the TV?
