Note that it appears that the satellite (rbs40) appears to only have a back haul of 866 [labeled ac2200] vs rbk50's Satellite (rbs50) and labeled ac3000

I'd noticed that. It looks like the voice model are RBS40s which can't transfer as fast as the main unit. One of the reasons I'd be hesitant to purchase it is that I was reading somewhere that if you were to purchase another satellite that it throttles them to the slowest connecting speed of the other units. To me that sounds off, but I'm not 100% sure.

It also looks like RBS53 [costco.com] is back in stock if you want all RBK50 units.

I recently bought this from amazon for $199, I am really liking it so far. It is tri-band so dedicated back haul. I was worried I would have issues with some of my network cameras etc, only had one issue where I had to completely reset one to change it to the new ssid. The others auto connected to the new SSID no issue, however I had set them up before on a 2.4ghz only SSID. The voice module also has 2 network ports that you can connect wired devices into to connect back to the router. I have 8 wifi cameras, 4 wifi bulbs, 4 wifi outlets, several fire sticks, multiple phones, tablets etc a total of 39 devices connected and haven't had any issues in the two weeks I have had it setup. I replaced a Netgear nighthawk R7000 that was dropping connections to smart devices etc because of too many devices.

do you know if you can plug unmanaged switches into the wired ports for multiple wired devices?

I have connected an 8 port unmanaged gigabit switch to the main router that works just fine. I haven't tried it on the voice module but I bet it would work just fine.

Thanks, I've more hard wired devices than wi-fi, so I'd need to be able to use the switches.

I bought it from Costco but had to return it due to too many issues. Too many dos attacks, data usage quadruple and my battery powered ring live view didn't work most of the time. Got nest wifi and never looked back.

Apparently the Alexa integration isn't very good but the speaker is quality if you can get around that. Just something to be aware of.

Beyond that, I'm going to bite because for my setup i'll be able to utilize the wired backhaul on the satellite and not worry about the speed limitations of doing that aspect wireless and i can't find another tri-band mesh with similar features for this price range.

Hi all, can anyone answer these? TIA

This one, or the Sams' club one on sale? Anyone know which is better? Should I replace my Nighthawk router with this if I need more coverage? Are the speeds good for gaming?

Confused between this pack vs the TP-Link Deco M9 Plus 3-pack available for $199 at Costco. I doubt Deco M9 would be much slower than this Orbi pack but it offers security and parental controls without the need to buy subscription. Any suggestions?
