Looks like a decent deal. Waterproof and sealed but no mention if nitrogen filled. Decent angle of view on the 8x @ 327ft/1000 yds. 21mm eye relief is good. Multicoated.

8x is probably easiest to hand hold without a rest for longer periods. And brighter in low light.

10x for that extra bit of reach but can be shaky depending on the user. Usually heavier binoculars help with this.

Edit: just note stated specs don't always translate to good optics or if they skimped on materials or assembly. I tried looking up reviews and did not find any from a more professional website only a handful of amazon review. Be ready to test and return if not up to spec.

All I've seen from Vanguard is their camera and tripod equipment, any idea if this would be a good first pair for birdwatching?

Vanguard Endeavor are great for birding. Like digduck, I can't find any reviews of these, though specs look good for that price - BAK4 prism, multicoated lenses, sealed. I can't find anything to say why these are so much cheaper, other than slightly narrower view angle and somewhat lighter. So if anyone who gets them can give a review and maybe compare to something like the Endeavors, that would be great.

Same price on Amazon and there are reviews there: https://www.amazon.com/Vanguard-O...B00CTEAD6G Edit: I did a little searching. These are not great but they are only $60. I was looking for something like the Vortex Crossfire 10x42s I got for my wife. I'll wait for them.

Are these any better than the $30 ones on Amazon for viewing City skyline?

How does the Crossfire compare to the Vortex Diamondback?

I have not compared but I did read: https://binocularsinsight.com/com...inoculars/ On a side note I did just pick up a pair of these for $16for my 8-year old daughter. I cannot wait to try them out, https://www.harborfreight.com/10-...94527.html

Thanks for the heads up.. I'm quite shocked at the great reviews that they are getting. People that know binoculars are comparing them favorably and better than some that cost $200. Strange the hit or miss stuff that comes out of Chinese factories. Piles of junk and then some little gem comes along.

"The rubber-coated aluminum frame is extremely rugged" is what sold me
