Should still be able to upgrade to Windows 10 for free on this
We use these, 7010, at my company when the user gets a desktop. Solid performance for business, easy access internals, easy ssd addition and 4 ram slots with 2 filled already.
These are great computers. Typically used in a business setting. I own this model, just with more RAM (16 gigs) I use it as a Plex media server, and have no issues whatsoever. It really depends on what you plan on doing. These are perfectly capable for day to day use and a little more. You won't be able to game or render 4k videos on it, though. Just note these HDDs are old if they haven't replaced the original ones. They may be prone to failure, but are quite easy to fix. For reference, I paid $200 for mine on Ebay last year.

Edit: I own the 7010.

Anyone else see a better deal in refurbished desktops? I'm ignorant to what's good now a days and I've been without a PC for over a year.

If I could add an SSD to this and my gtx 1060gpu to this would I be able to play modern warfare?

Awesome, that's exactly what I bought mine for. Sick of using my main desktop for Plex. Do these have 2 or 4 ram slots?

The "Legacy Desktop Processor Hierarchy [tomshardware.com]" about halfway down the page is very good for ALL CPUs, including this 9-year-old (which is a pretty awesome CPU).

You can't build your own "good at everything but gaming" system for this price. But the caveat is this: It can't play any graphically intensive games since about 2006. You could put in a small form factor graphics card (GT 1030 from Zotac Refurbished might be the best choice), but if you get too much graphics, you'd need to replace the power supply. But you can't buy a stronger power supply for most irregular small systems like this.

Plus, it's old, so it might break because motherboards fail at some point (there's always a weak capacitor).

If you want it for Netflix, web browsing, and even most non-professional video editing, it will never have any trouble.

I think you'd find the power supply inadequate for at 1060 (and it's not an upgradeable power supply) and the case too small to fit it (you need low-profile, maybe a 1050 low-profile).

The CPU (see my link above) is excellent for gaming though.
