Great price best I've seen for it so far including BF. HOWEVER the new Valentine one V2 has been released and has yet to be fully tested to see how much it outperforms this unit.

I would wait and see the detector tests and reviews before jumping on this imo.

For me, initial delivery date was supposed to be late April. But, it ended up going out with some other stuff I ordered and it arrived 3-4 days later.

The V1G2 does not outperform the R7 and also has a high defect rate for total failure and to get basic features you need to run a phone app with the V1. For standalone use, reliability and range the R7 is way better and costs less. The display on the V1 sucks as well.

I feel the same based on what I'm watching / reading, which is why I went with the R7.

I'm coming from an original V1 that I've owned for 17 years.

Proof of that there is a high failure rate? Vortex who is the main person on all forums that tests had his own unit fail in less than a week. Range, the tests are out there, do some lookup. As for if you need an app to get basic features, that's a fact. Anyone with any RD knowledge knows that. Display, the V1 still doesn't show frequency. You would know this if you had a V1. Also K range without filters is abysmal. That has also been tested and proven.

I have both and R7 and a new V1. You are the fanboy.
