Niche issue.. but this specific device is very leaky in terms of electrical interference, both wireless and wired. USB 3.0 is known to cause interference, but I've had more issues with this device specifically than any other. When used in my car it even interferes with GPS.
My point is, it works well for it's primary purpose, but if you're having issues with things, try removing this from the equation.

I have used 3 of these on a regular basis for the past few years with no known issues. I appreciate the long cable for being able to access the rear motherboard ports on desktop.
I'll add to the choir here. Mine has been working fine for the last three or so years. I use it for my work laptop - I've got an external monitor plugged into the laptop's hdmi port, then this hub is used to connect an external keyboard, mouse, USB microphone and webcam.

Anyone have a recommendation for one with a micro sd reader with the longer cord? Most I can find only has short cords so not ideal for my use case with a desktop

Was going to say the same thing… the signals seem to get crossed sometimes too and my system gets confused. You'll notice it if you have something like a mouse and a keyboard plugged into it at the same time!
