I've had this hub for over a year now and it works great. No problems as of yet and haven't had an issue with speeds when it comes to thumb drives, etc. Wish it had Type-C ports, but still works fine.

Was gonna get this to do some old school wired gaming with 4 controllers.

Then I realized I don't have 3 gaming friends to do that anyways.

*EDIT3* Cancelled my order for the no name USB HUB. It only provides ONE (1) USB 3.0 port. The other THREE (3) ports are USB 2.0. That's a deal breaker. Guess I'll have to decide between the Anker (w/ no optional power port) and the Acer (for an extra $2).

Original reply:
Was contemplating ordering the item listed in this deal as it's an "Anker" name brand; however, I ran across a no-name hub (linked below, not slim, but likely shorter in length) for $5.88, where it has a USB-C INPUT port (to provide optional POWER to the USB HUB -- you'll need to provide your own USB-C power adapter though):
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0DJVZ7JXS

Thus, decided to roll the dice w/ the no name (which currently has a whopping 2 reviews, both 5 stars, but both from Amazon Vine freebie reviewers).

*EDIT* The no-name device is also available for "up to 20% off:"
5% off 2 units, 10% off 4 units, 20% off 8 units

*EDIT2* Here's an "Acer" name brand slim USB hub w/ USB-C (optional power) INPUT port for $9.99:

I own one and have to move it around to get it to have power. It was nice while it lasted, but I do travel a bit with it.

If anyone sees a deal on a USB-C 4.0 hub -- let me know -- I've got an extra USB 4 hub on my new motherboard I dont know what to do with (the other is powering a monitor).

Loving the USB 4 standard.

I like that this hub in the post has a 2 foot cord -- that's very useful to wrap from behind the PC, so your forward ports are still fully available.

I have 3 of these - 2 stationary on desktops and 1 in my laptop bag. Super handy for desktop cases that have no 3.0 ports on the front.

I've had this for 3 years. Very stable, lightweight, and low profile.

If you just want to use it as a hub for mouse, keyboard, etc you can get some solidly built ones on AliEx for under $2.

Big fan of this one - cheap, works great for adding extra ports, haven't had any trouble with it at all (~1 year), using a variety of external hard drives, thumbdrives, dongles (headset, keyboard, mouse), haven't had any issues! The low-profile look made it easy to sticky-tape onto the side of my tower

Does it work at full speed when you have multiple thumb drives connected at the same time? I am debating whether I should go for a powered hub instead, like the Acer linked in the comment above.

Why do most of these hubs have their power cable coming from the side?

I need one coming from the back side, with some usb-a and usb-c on the front and back to use with my desktop. It's extremely hard to find.
