Home Depot has the Remington- 40-Volt Lithium-Ion Cordless Electric String Trimmer 2.5 Ah Battery and Charger Included

Highly rated and much cheaper than anywhere I could find (keep in mind this includes the battery and charger, which can often add $100+ to the price if you get the bare tool and need a battery and charger). It also resizes for people of different heights and the head rotates for edging as well.

Other than comments I can't find any other reviews for this. Sounds like a good deal for a 40v, given the recent 2.5aH ego was $149

I know it is 50% more, but I would still think the Ego is worth the extra if you planned to get any longevity out of the system or if there was even a possibility you'd want to buy additional compatible tools. Remington power tools are basically Harbor-Freight level tools. Although the Ego brand is only 5-7 years old at this point, they have proven to make decent quality lawn & garden cordless tools.

I'm wondering if this is worth buying. I can't find any intel on this Remington brand. Aside from string trimmer they also sell:

* Chainsaw with 4AH battery for $130: https://www.homedepot.com/p/Remin.../303454616
* Hedge trimmer with 2.5AH battery for $100: https://www.homedepot.com/p/Remin.../303454522
* Pole saw with 2.5AH for $120: https://www.homedepot.com/p/Remin.../303454598

price-wise looks not bad. 3 years warranty. Don't know how bad it could be?.. I saw some meh reviews on amazon, one saying that battery didn't work, but since there's 3 year warranty...

@ign0ramus perhaps you update your post with the other references?

UPDATE: I shall pull the trigger and get chainsaw and trimmer, will update thread with feedback

UPDATE2: I got chainsaw and trimmer, and so far both are very good, and since both came with batteries, I tend to value these high. One thing that worries me is that 2.5AH battery is same size as 4AH, and doesn't weight might less. Perhaps, batteries will let me down soon, but I'll give them benefit of a doubt

I bought EGO yesterday and pole snapped while tightening screw at the place where it comes folder in order to fit in the box. Speaking of cheap crap..
