QA Edit: Seems the 50% off appliance part of this deal may have died but users as of today 5/1 still say they're getting the 50% off on open box TVs still. So we will let this thread stay in Hot Deals for another day or so, for users that still can get it.
------------------------

I was shopping around for a new washer/dryer, and picked out a pair by LG. Called in to the store to find out what might be damaged on the washer since you can't go in and see it. The Best Buy website lists the open box price as $695.99. They went over and looked at it, told me about the scuffs, and then mentioned "oh, and the open-box promotion brings it down to $347.99

I bought it, then called the other Best Buy that had the matching dryer, also as open-box. I asked them what was wrong with it, and about the price since "another Best Buy said you're running an open box promotion" and we all know that could be specific to one location or whatnot. The guy on the phone said the price I got the washer for was crazy, he'd never heard of such a thing. He went to explain that open box pricing changes all the time depending on the new item sale prices etc, but he'd ask his manager. He came back and said that there's an additional coupon he has to scan, for 50% off open box major appliances. The Geek Squad extended warranty price is based on the price you pay, not MSRP, so that also goes down in price should you be interested.

Pricing on the website does NOT reflect this promotion. You must call the store so they can scan the coupon, and pay over the phone. My order doesn't show any SKU for a coupon, just the super-low price.

Got a new basic range for $211, down from $649 regularly. Got the matching built in microwave for $111 from $269. All open box fair, the rep looked and told me they are floor models with little to no damage.

That's a slick deal.
Did you find a friend or employee at BB?

So some are getting this without barcode and some stores are requiring bar code? Worst Buy!

Just called a local store and the rep said she could offer it even though it's for "employees only" with the caveat being it is strictly for pick-up only. Not sure I want to deal with renting a Uhaul or Home Depot truck for all this especially right now with everything going on (stay at home, social distancing, masking/gloving up, etc). Although, there is a Home Depot in the same plaza which would make it easier. I was hoping for a delivery option though, even if I had to pay for it.

I am talking with them right now. Although they admit that I can get the discount - I'll have to come to the store to get the price adjusted and need to bring a BB employee who can show their employee ID. I already got a fridge & dishwasher from another location and they didn't even bother to ask for that. just paid over the phone and got an instant email confirmation for pickup. The second store now telling me to do differently. confusing but they are the only store around me have the microwave/oven in stock. I guess I'll come and get the $ adjusted.
Wow, I noticed as the day goes on there rules and requirements are changing. Potomac Mills location only honored it after I showed them from my emil receipt from the Baileys location.
Still worth the fight for the price adjustment bc stock is going fast

So are appliances 50% "with" the employee discount mentioning? Or are they just 50% off open box items by default (like store promo)?
All i did was call and ask if there's a 50% off open box appliance promotion going on currently and he said yes, no mention of friends and family. I overhead Rick ask someone how he should apply the additional 50%off in the system and a manager gave him something to scan. Originally i called the shamburg location and the girl there said they aren't doing any promotion and wouldn't honor the 50%off

I was able to grab an LG OLED C9 65" for 1099 from North Scottsdale location. I just called and asked about open box inventory and pricing. The item I am getting is open box 'satisfactory', but no scratches and no parts missing ... the girl on the phone said it was a display model which I'm OK with for this price. I'll grab the geek squad warranty to cover any burn in problems. It also comes with a $100 gift card. Thanks slickdeals!!

Ok. So Update. It took calling 3 stores, but eventually I got through. And after that manager explained it to me I was able to explain it properly to the other managers at other stores. The washer and dryer I want were at different stores. I was getting the run around this morning with people not knowing about the deal or needing employee confirmation calls ins or the employee has to buy it, bla bla bla. You have to explain to them that is not discounted already on the price online. It is a further discount. It is Friend and Family that applies to ANYONE. The main confusion come from 2 promotional emails that went out last week mentioning the friends and family discount and then another one explaining an employee discount. They must ring the item up in store, NOT ONLINE, and then apply a scanner bar coupon. They did this with a test run of a random open box appliance before applying to the open box items I already bought online already to reserve the items i want.

I am on my way to pick up one item and once I am there the manager will cancel my item and re-ring it up with the 50% applied. He will then show me the barcode they need to scan to take to the other store to explain it to the other manager when I go pick up the other item. I will update in a few hours I get a screen shot of that barcode.
Could you update on the barcode and your experience when picking up? I got the "you need a code from employee" answer. Thanks!

Got a whirlpool dishwasher normally 899 for 380 out the door, including a 5 year warranty...Woot ! Thanks from Ohio! Literally just called to ask the condition, what the price was, and if it was eligible for the friends and family discount.

Got a open box 65" B9 for $850 at the Albany store. No issues just missing the stand which I'm fine with. Bought the geek squad warranty to cover my ass. Hell of a deal.

I called and was able to get into so I chatted with a CSR. The agent confirmed on the stock availability at the store and also confirmed that the store has ongoing openbox promotion for additional 50% off. The agent couldn't price match it because it an in-store promotional coupon so she advised me to just order online and have then readjusted the price by return/rebuy option when picking up the item. However, when I just called to confirm the promotion, they denied it that they only have upto 50% as shown on the bestbuy website. Should I go there today to haggle the price or go there tomorrow hoping that a different employee will honor it. Their store manager is already out today.
