Actually the promo ($5 off making it $26.99) says "online only" so definitely don't go to a store. (people still go to stores?). And if you have Target RedCard (I recommend), you get free shipping on most items, including this, and an extra 5% off. Just ordered for delivery in 2 days, pretty good!

"Just use a $200 dollar power tool" sounds pretty smart-butt to me. Sharpening garden tools comes with the territory, and Fiskars makes nice stuff.

I don't think anybody who's even remotely interested in this deal has "any branch more than 2 inches or so in diameter" in mind when it caught their eye.

Pay more for the power gear loppers. Love mine, they go through big branches with ease (big for loppers, not like big that you should be using a saw for anyways...). You could probably snap through a femur if you needed to.
This!

After using several brands of "regular" loppers for years, upgrading to the 32" Powergears loppers was life-changing. They cut through even several inch branches like butter.

The cut on them is very satisfying. It doesn't take a lot of effort yet it just slides right through all of the "branches"

Wow 400' feet of fence....how long is your extension cord.
400' of fence doesn't necessarily mean that you need a crazy long extension cord. It's lot like he has 400' of fence running in a single long line away from his house.

I can vouch for the loppers... they're quite awesome, actually. I think I ended up getting them on another YMMV Home Depot deal back in 2017 - $4.97 for the loppers and bypass pruners (looks like Nov 2017 if you wanted to check - but definitely an "end of season" type of deal). I've used the hedge shears as well, but don't own them... the loppers and shears are both high quality products, and I've read numerous accounts of Fiskars being amazingly easy to warranty items - and I believe everything in this kit is covered by a lifetime warranty.

Which one of these do I need to cut down 1-2" branches? I've been using hand shears and my hands hurt

Get a small electric chainsaw (10"), ~50-60 bucks. It chews through branches so fast and so satisfying. It is also easier to get into thick stuff. Lopper is fine for occasional small branch here and there. If it's full of branches, it's hard to get a lopper inside.

All right Mr. mathematician what if his fence is cubed 100' x 100' how long of a extension cord will he need to reach the back?

I have never claimed to be a mathematician and I was just stating that he probably doesn't need much more than a standard 50-75 extension cord.

That said, I can only perform your requested calculations if I know the size of house on said lot and ideally I'd know the location of the outdoor outlets 😂

I bought Corona loppers that had a mechanism on both arms to extend/retract and lock in place. Unfortunately the arms will often unlock and either extend or retract on their own while in use. Huge pain in the ass and i regret purchasing it.
