Jamo s803 speakers in stock with all colors at $148.00. I've never seen the white versions so low and I've been watching for awhile. I bought mine when they were $183 and I love them.

Please note: a huge omission from the photos shown of the speakers are the tops. Each speaker has 4 unsightly holes on top predrilled for installing the optional Atmos height speakers directly on top of these. I never wanted to add the atmos speakers on top and I don't think most people will either. That means you're stuck with the holes on top. I generally liked the sound of these, but the beautiful aesthetics were ruined for me by the stupid holes on top of each speaker. The holes are much more noticeable on the white than on the brown or black variations of the Jamos. I ultimately returned them and I only paid $118 from amazon, so current price is not great. Google some images of the speakers to see the holes on top and how terrible it makes the speakers look. Sound is a bit bright, bordering on sibilant, midrange is a bit recessed and soft, bass is accurate and not boomy though. Overall good sound, but I couldn't deal with the holes on top as my speakers were right at eye level.

Just place these magic stones over the holes. The speakers will sound better and it says you can even put them on your car's computer to get better gas mileage!!

I have a Jamo-based system (83 cen, 805 floor, s622 bookshelf), and I'm honestly impressed by it. The bookshelf speakers are more balanced than their floorstanding speakers. I had to tweak the EQ on the floorstanding speakers to get them to sound great (they pack a lot of bass punch which I had to tone down), but every time I turn on the TV is a great audio experience.

These are passive speakers so no. You will need either a integrated amp/ amp with preamp/ or a receiver.

Have the 807 HCS and love them for the price. Still waiting for the Atmos modules to come back in to stock.

Hrmm... How do these compare to infinity r162?

I'm looking to upgrade from a pair of Infinity P143.

You can use 801 which are powered with optical or USB inputs. $150 pair.

Hmm, same price. But then you cant connect it to your own amp. Does have any EQ functions like bass and treble?

These do not compare to infinity r162. I would consider these Jamo series as near top-tier only amongst low end speakers. I have demoed them recently against klipsch line, elac, Pioneer Andre Jones series. Of those, the jamo series were least favorite. There is nothing wrong with them, they are good sounding speakers, but not "the best".

There is a lot of "return on investment" in this lower price category of speakers. Many are thrilled when they try their first $150/pair speakers because its such an improvement over the $30 to $100/pair they are used to. The same applies when you go up to $200/pair and then $250/pair. Point being, the price steps from good to very-good are often very small. Going from a good but still low-end speaker, up to a mid-grade speaker, is a worthwhile investment.

Gaining an appreciation for good speakers and becoming an "Audiophile" is not cheap. Irony is, the better the speaker you have, and the more you enjoy it, the more you appreciate how good it can be, and therefore the better you want and the more you start spending.

The upgrade from good to great is easy, the upgrade from great to perfect is the one that never-ends and drains your wallet.

These are good speakers, problem is they are only good speakers. If you have a few more dollars to spend, its cheaper to do it now than to upgrade these later. You can get to great speakers for not a lot more.

I knew you were kidding. The magic stones are to be placed in your ears to make the speakers magically sound better and two more should be put in your eyes so that you can't see the fugly holes in your speakers. Obviously!
