Nice price. Is this a better deal than the Hisense 58R6E for $278?

You can get a TCL repaired throught the US. If your Hisense takes a dump you have to ship it to them for repair under warranty.

Wondering if I should get this over my ONN 50" 4k or if I should even go higher to the 6-series for $500. Is the 6 series really worth twice of this 4 series?

Thanks. Guess I will skip out on it for now. Can't quite justify the $500 for the 6 series right now. Mainly looking for a new TV since the ONN TV I have is a very low end TV from Black Friday. The dark color resolution is horrific.

My TCL 55US57 Roku TV was purchased 20 months ago at Walmart for $329. Shortly after the one year manufacturer warranty expired, the entire left side of the screen is now completely dim. I also had constant issues with the sound fading, internet connection dropping, and there is a high pitch noise coming from the TV the moment I turned it on. I contacted TCL and basically was told there is nothing I can do and suggested that I buy a new one because repairing was not "cost effective".

If you do purchase a TCL model I would suggest you invest in an extended warranty if it is available.

The 6 series 55" is $399 at Costco if you're thinking of getting the 55". The 65" R613 is $499.

I agree. I went to pick this up at the store and they were showing a 4k demo. Even if you turned up the settings it looked dim. But it's a good price as long as you aren't placing the tv near a window.

I pretty much have to keep this on vivid with the brightness turned up a bit to get good picture in a dim room. HDR is a joke. But if all you watch is SD and HD shows, it's a great TV. I think the upscaling is pretty decent. Like others have said, the 6 series is a better value. However, I'd wait until the 2020 models all come out if you're thinking about 4K gaming. Several new models are likely to have HDMI 2.1, variable refresh rates, 120 Hz at 4k, and will have more dimming zones. Possibly even some mid tier models from budget brands will have these features that you can currently only find on LG Nano and OLED models.
