People might say this is a repetitive post, but it's not. This promotion is directly from sam's club and I eventually get free one year membership.

I eventually get free one year membership. Here is what I did:
1. enter email address in https://specialoffer.samsclub.com/
2. show the coupon ID in the email to staff at Sam's club
3. She helped me purchased one year membership for $45, which is paid by the $45 off coupon, so, eventually, I get free one year membership.

There was a deal back in January that included stacking of offers, referrals and double dipping. At this time, it is not clear if anything like that is doable.

You need to become a new member. For Sams, this means a new email address. Google is your friend here.

* A gmail email address ignores periods in the username. For example, first.last@g... is the same account as firstlast@g... or f.i.r.s.t.l.a.s.t@g.... Everything goes to firstlast@g...

* Anything added after a plus sign in an gmail email address is ignored but can be used to assign labels. For example myemail+2020@g... and myemail+sams20@g... is the same: myemail@g.... You can use this for mailing lists or promos for example. Then you can create a label (2020 or sams20) and apply filters to it.

If you don't want other email addresses, and your membership expired, you can try to do chat or call and they can take the email address out of the system. Only then you could sign up with the same email address as a new customer.

Finally, legally, an additional member, can sign up as the primary member and would be considered new. So you can flip-flop every year.

I swung by today. Note that there is nothing in my app that indicated I had $45 in instant credit. Nothing in order history or any other section of the account pages that I checked.

I was going in to spend $50-$100 either way. If I didn't get the credit, I was canceling and calling my bank to dispute the $45 fee if necessary. Not necessary. I got the $45 instant credit.

I went through the regular line. Order was about $83. They scanned up everything and I saw no credit until they hit the final key or whatever to take my payment. Then the $45 came off. The lady saw it and said something about it. I just told her I was a new member and I was wondering if it was going to come off or not. She was like, "Oh yeah that's automatic."

Done and done. I know there are some complaints about Sam's Club in this thread. Some on their following through on promotions. Some on the stores. Obviously with this one it worked out. As for their stores, my local store here in New Hampshire is great. Well stocked and I was very pleased with some of the prices, too.

Happy to post a copy of my receipt later.

BTW I entered the store about 72 hours and 30 minutes after I signed up. I checked the original time stamp on the account email. No idea when it was actually posted to my account but I did wait the full 72 hours before going in.
You can join the club online and receive the voucher for in store purchase later. You can start making purchase online immediately but not with that voucher.
These are only for a new member, which is usually someone who hasn't had a membership for 6 months, but if you normally get a companion card, that person can sign up and add you as a companion. Then you can keep alternating every year with deals like this, or groupon... just don't sign up for the credit card, because that is tied to your membership and the account will close if your Sam's membership lapses.

I did this online. Your deal required you to go into a club unnecessarily and have close contact with a customer service rep. Seems like a wonderful and valid post!
How? Aren't you supposed to buy membership first, then make a $45 purchase? I understand OP got a sweetheart deal from a confused staff member, but online?

Fine print says offer must be redeemed in store. Can you signup online and use offer without interacting with people in store? I just want to order online and pick up.

The last time I signed up, had $45 credit applied to an order online.
UPS lost the package, but CSR can't issue a replacement since I did not pay for it !
