I think this is likely a better deal - use SCORE500 when signing up. I signed up for this last week. Not targeted. https://www.capitalone.com/score500/

Ah never mind I didn't read that OP's deal is if you have an existing savings account I thought just for folks with existing Capital One credit cards etc. One doesn't replace the other.

Only problem is that the money is tied up for 90 days. Unlike the discover deal, since they pay the bonus like 1 day after initial deposit.

This is probably not YMMV? I went to the link, click add money, signed in and it's at the money transfer page, I guess that means I qualify? maybe it's not YMMV but available for everyone?

The 3 months your money has to be in the account, it's still earning the 1.5% in savings account right?

Yeah but you get interest at 1.5% annual rate + the bonus on top. If you don't need access to the cash seems like a good deal

I got this email too. I'm already signed up for the previous deal that is $500 for 50k if funds are held for 90 days.

Probably will take advantage of this. $1k to store 50k for 6 mo ain't bad. Basically 2% bonus over 1 year on top of the standard (what was 1.7% APR now 1.5%) so 3.7%.

I'm thinking to do that too if I'll receive the email.

How do you tell if youre eligible for this offer? This is clearly a ymmv targeted, but how would you know?

EDIT: Nevermind. I just read if you had a cap one savings or moneymarket account after Jan 2016, youre ineligible so that disqualifies me. Geez. That is a long period.. I guess its literally one capital one bonus per lifetime? lol

Since this is an existing account, how do you get around the "new money" requirement? I transferred more than $50K out already., It looks like if you transfer out and then transfer back in then they don't count it as "new money"?
