Can the auto renewal be canceled right after activating the code?
Typically, these 'auto-renewal' AV package make you set up a UD and profile(unless you already have one) under norton.com/mcafee.com/etc where you add the license and a settings menu for the software you just puchased. After adding the software license to your profile, go into the settings menu for that software and it will have 'auto-renewal' switched on by default. You immediately switch it off and no more auto-renewal, probably takes 5 minutes. Your profile will also track how many PC's you have using the license as well and it's where you DL the specific AV program you purchased. OH, and I think you have to add this and activate protection under at least one PC first before you can switch off auto-renewal which of course starts the 366 day countdown of your AVS license expiration, FYI.
I just did this for a similar McAffee program. I have this exact Norton program but haven't activated it. Hopefully someone can confirm this for us...

Yes. I have done it before. Please note that you will not be able to extend the end date of your existing subscription with new key. I have tried online via Chat and via phone and was told that they cannot do it.

I found that i have to activate the product key in a existing Norton account and then have them transfer it to the expiring subscription via chat. I have done this several times with Norton 360 for a few customers without any issues.

Absolutely horrible. Had very bad luck with Norton in laptops 💻 that won't allow you to uninstall it. Now on smart devices phones 📱 etc , it Really Slows down the phone processing power. No comprendo why people pay money to install this 💩 on their phones and laptops. I've had Avast for free on my MacBook for years, never any issues or problems. Norton is the actual virus 🦠
Cons: You pay for the software upfront and then Norton FORCES you to provide a credit card for future renewals before unlocking the software you have already paid for.
Other Thoughts: Do not buy. I have used Norton for years; but this deceptive marketing is a step too far. It is downright sleazy and needs to be brought to light.

every computer I had to fix especially with speed issues was always fixed by uninstalling Norton (all software other than Ghost) and it would fix the issues.
Would any of you with antivirus knowledge recommend other alternatives to Norton? Would Mcafee be better? Thank you!!!!
In the past I have used Kaspersky without any issues but have been using Norton Premium 10 device on Laptops, Desktops and Android Phones without any slow downs since 2015. Primary reason to switch to Norton was family controls (time, website restrictions for kids, etc.). For my use case, it is perfect. I have always purchased this product with Free After Rebate deals except for the past 2 years. Paid $10 after rebate in 2019 and $20 for 15-month deal from Amazon for 2020 (purchased during BF2019).
