Not really. They are selling for $50-60 on eBay and for $35-45 through a few retailers being back ordered for a few weeks. Moreover, shipping cost does not change much if you buy more than one.

What do you get from a manager switch vs a dumb switch?
Better control, monitoring and security. For example, you can assign ports to particular vLans throttling the traffic and making it more secure. Think about IoT devices you don't want to have in your main network.

Can't speak for what this one can do but in general, vlans, vlan tagging, segmentation, jumbo frames etc, link aggregation, and so on. vlans and tagging are the most commonly used but that can also be done at the router but depending on how you like your network segmented then micro managing at the switch can be fun. Link aggregation is a cool feature too, I'm sure this has it... maybe.
Thanks. These are generally out of stock everytime I remember they exist. Snagged 3 for $100 2nd day shipped. I've got a few places I want to stick poe powered switches. Just have to see how strict that 113 upper end of operating temp is.
Thinking about getting this to add vlans better isolate IoT devices, IP cameras, and less-secure media players from the rest of the network. Currently have the USG and an AC Lite AP with a TP-Link smart switch in between.... so currently I can't use the Unifi controller to configure the vlans on the switch and getting the TP-link to play nice with the other two is hard.
The datasheet for the Flex Mini[ui.com] states that this switch uses "port-based vlans VLANs only and does not support SSH, STP (forwarding only), 802.1X, DNS suffix, or experience in the controller." Can anyone explain the practical limitations with this one vs the USW US-8 at $100 (other than the obvious - number of ports and difference in power)?

I have a dumb switch connected to me ERX and a managed would give me a bit more control.
I have a netgear managed 24-port I inherited from work, but its a bit much... This looks perfect at a good price.
I picked up a few because they are rarely in stock.
