Purchased a month ago. Cuts well. Very light compared to the 10 year old toro I had. I don't know if that's good or bad. Rear wheel drive takes some getting used too. My toro had front wheel drive. Don't know how long it will last, but I'm happy with this mower.

Personal mower maintenance question:. If I am too lazy to take the blade off, after mowing wet grass, can I successfully sharpen it for a minute with a file , or would I require a hand held grinder?
Be very careful when performing maintenance with the blade on. Make sure you have disconnected the plug wire at the very least. Rotation of the blade is enough to generate spark and start up the mower sometimes. If your hands are anywhere inside when this happens, it can lead to a bad day to say the least. I've seen it happen to a relative and get concerned every time I hear about someone being lazy.

Is $250 the in-store price, too?

It takes like a minute to flip the mower to the side and take off the blade with a socket wrench.....

More power and basically an unlimited run time.

If you have a very small lawn an electric would be fine.

My parents have a 40V blower and its fine for small, quick jobs. Anything else I go for the Stihl handheld blower or backpack blower. There is no comparison in run time and power.
Thank you for your answer. I don't know why I got thumbs down for asking a question.

Yes I would think so. Thinking of taking advantage of the new membership promotion of $45 off first purchase and use it on this thing.

Some people would have considered it a "stupid" question but if you aren't familiar with power equipment, it is a very valid question. For smaller, lighter duty jobs, typically residential electric is great. For large, heavy duty jobs or commercial, gas is very hard to beat. There are exceptions though.

Bought it today, just finished my yard. A few thoughts...

It's louder than my last mower (which was also 22" but slightly higher HP) and probably a little heavier.

The speed isn't impressive, but I probably have too high of expectations there. I've really wanted the 30" Toro timesaver but at $1k it's too close to riding mower territory for me to justify. It does have something they call "personal pace" which didn't sound that great, but my problem with this mower is that I want to walk faster than it propels. When it's engaged you can't push it faster than it's top speed. I think that's what the Toro probably means by personal pace, giving you assistance even if you want to walk faster.

However, it is very easy to push, so other than on hills I wasn't using the self propelled feature.

The bagging is good, but a lot of clippings come out around the edges, especially when the bag is empty. It looks like an easy fix with some sort of material to fill the gaps.

Overall I'm happy enough as I didn't see anything else at 22" self propelled in this price range at this moment.

Thoughts on this vice one of the new Honda HRN mowers? I get a 10% discount at Lowes, so looking at approx $360 plus tax. Obviously another kick up in price but otherwise looking for input on either.

Thanks.

Costco has a better one + a blower combo for sale at $299 beginning today

Yard Force 21" Gas Mower with 20V Leaf Blower https://www.costco.com/yard-force...39363.html
Costco one might be better for some given that it can press start with a battery and also includes a leaf blower

Thanks OP. Picked one up yesterday and mowed the yard today with it. Worked pretty good, used mulch mode on it. Haven't found anything else on the market with these features and quality at this price point.

Decided to get it from my local Sam's instead of ordering from Costco. Its single speed is slower than my personal pace, but not annoyingly so. Steady even in steep up/downhills. Started very easily, no effort. The bag lets grass out during the first 5 minutes or so, then the grass itself improves the seal. The bag was not big enough for my yard. The single-point height adjustment is great.

Costco is a better buy also considering the variable speed. But I hate reading incomplete specs like run time on the blower.

The honda is a much nicer piece of equipment, but that's a good chunk of change more to spend. Up to you if it's worth it for mowing your lawn or not. I switched to a $99 non propelled murray a couple years ago and couldn't be happier honestly. No drive system to fail on me and it's very lightweight so hills are still easy even without propulsion.
