Verizon is offering customers with existing non-committed 100/100 plan a free upgrade to 200/200 plan for the same monthly cost of $39.99 without additional commitments.

To receive this free upgrade, login to MyVerizon dashboard here [verizon.com]. Then click "Order Now" under the black "mix & match on Fios" tile. Click your existing 100/100 speed, then click "More Speeds" and select 200/200 for a month cost of $39.99.

Complete the order and you'll now have double the speed for "free".

Please note that if your G1100 or G3100 router is connected to the ONT via COAX, your order will not be processed unless a technician visits your location to switch it over to Ethernet. COAX on the ONT only supports speeds up to 100/100 and anything faster will require the router to be connected directly into the Ethernet port on the ONT.

Just did the same upgrade over the weekend! Was quite surprised to see the same price for double the speed but decided to go for it. Hope the price is here to stay and not a temporary discount due to the situation we're all in.

Side note: when you only have Internet or Internet + Phone plan you can rewire your system (from ONT) from COAX to Ethernet by yourself and then contact the Verizon (chat works) to switch the system (again, from COAX to Ethernet). See more info here: (https://forums.verizon.com/t5/Fio...d-p/851632) - pay attention to the "Identifying Ethernet" part.
It shows $10/month additional charge for me as an upgrade. I'm in MD with internet only service for $40/month. ONT is connected to my own wireless router via Ethernet port which is Gigabit capable. Oh well...

Couple of questions I had. Would appreciate the help.

1) I still have 8 months left on my 2 year contract. I can see the 200mb offer for 39.99. If I chose this, what would happen to the 8 months left? Would that immediately cancel out and I would go 39.99 a month no contract?

2) I have the G1100 modem/router and I'm pretty sure it's connected through coaxial. I have the 100mb plan and when I run speedtest.net it goes up to 110mb. Would I be capped at this speed even if I spring for the 200mb?
1) I am not sure, best to call Verizon to confirm.
2) Your 200/200 plan will not activate until the ONT is switched to Ethernet, as the Verizon systematically shuts down the COAX port on the ONT on any plans higher than 100/100. Discussing theoretical maximum of COAX on 200/200 is moot as the the system does not allow you to test the connection speed on COAX with 200/200.

These front page deals keep reappearing. Did this last year. Same price, same deal. Hasn't this been available for eight months?

I only paid for 100/100 but I got a free upgrade to 300/300 for no reason. They never send me anything about it. I guess now everyone has Gigibit in my area they wanted to give me a reason to stick with them.

I just followed the instructions exactly. When I hit 'more speeds' under the 300mbps, it still says $49.99. Any ideas why?

Previous deals are for new users or negotiated YMMV contract renewals. This is specific to existing no-contract 100/100 users which was not available until very recently.

Good deal, but I don't use that much bandwidth in the first place... what do people do with such speeds? Torrent? Gaming?

According to Verizon, you are still bound by your contract.

Thank you for the reply.

So it sounds like I would have to call Verizon to do the upgrade as they won't just send a tech out without some upgrade (unless I paid a service fee)?

Not sure if this deal is even available with a rep on the phone.

So then I would still be locked in for another 8 months for this 200mb 39.99 plan? If so, I'm fine with that.
