Verizon is offering customers with existing non-committed 100/100 plan a free upgrade to 200/200 plan for the same monthly cost of $39.99 without additional commitments.

To receive this free upgrade, login to MyVerizon dashboard here [verizon.com]. Then click "Order Now" under the black "mix & match on Fios" tile. Click your existing 100/100 speed, then click "More Speeds" and select 200/200 for a month cost of $39.99.

Complete the order and you'll now have double the speed for "free".

Please note that if your G1100 or G3100 router is connected to the ONT via COAX, your order will not be processed unless a technician visits your location to switch it over to Ethernet. COAX on the ONT only supports speeds up to 100/100 and anything faster will require the router to be connected directly into the Ethernet port on the ONT.

thanks OP, my year contract had ended 3 months ago, so i was paying close to 60 for 100/100 for 3 months...

even talked to customer chat to make sure things were good, let's hope they don't pull the rug on us later on...

I'm always suspicious when Verizon offers something for less to existing customers, having gotten burned in the past. Once they offered a free upgrade to a larger disk capacity DVR. What I was not told was that it started a new 2-years contract and the monthly rental was at the current rate which was higher than my grandfathered rental rate. So much for free. Tried to cancel and go back to what I had and was told that the computer system did not have the old rate that they could select.

I have since dumped the DVR and their modem and switched to Youtube TV. Currently paying $89.99 for 75/75. There have been two $5/mo increases since I started this plan. Switching with this offer looks like $64.99 to get to 200/200. Too good to be true?

EDIT: Checked the offer again this AM and got it down to $49.99 for 200/200 -- I must not have taken their modem rental off before like I thought.

If your employer has a relationship with Verizon this also qualifies for $5 Connections discount.

For those still in a contract, I spoke with CS via chat and was quoted an ETF. I went for it anyway and switched from 100/100 contract to 200/200 mix and match and was not quoted any ETF at checkout, but in the confirmation email I received this text:

So it looks like ETF will apply if I cancel before my original contract is up, but does not get billed immediately when switching from contract to mix and match (as the CS rep had originally told me).
Does the Verizon website show you as still under contract? It should say you have x amount of months left, however long you had left to go in your previous plan. So if we're trying to avoid the cancellation fee, I'm hoping that the website shows the remainder of the duration for your contract.

For those previously on 100/100 via ONT, do we just call Verizon and ask to be switched and activated to Ethernet?
That's what I did years ago. Took 10 minutes. If your ONT is ethernet compatible, you should be good to go by contacting support. If I recall correctly, the department you need isn't open as long as regular customer support, and most likely even less in the age of Covid.

Hi Killerz

Thanks very much for your reply.

I have Actiontec MI24WR FIOS modem router (purchased from Verizon). I suppose I can use these as MOCA bridges. Is the following correct?

[Basement: ONT > short Ethernet > MI24WR > Coax ] > Coax > [3rd floor Room: > MI24WR > Ethernet > computer/smart TV

Alternate: [Basement: ONT > short Ethernet > ASUS WiFi router] > Wifi > [3rd floor room: computer/smart TV].
With the Alternate, I may need access point on 3rd floor, or a mesh?

Appreciate any thoughts, advise.
Thank you worship
Correct, that setup would work for you. You need to check how to make the router a moca bridge. I've never done it, just read about it, so you'll have to do some googling or wait to see if someone else here has done it before. What speed service are you getting from verizon? I believe there are different revisions of that router with different speed limitations over moca. Depending on the speed you need, and the revision of the router, a mesh network might give you better speeds. There are many variables.

So I was under the 39.99 price for 24 months with autopay discount. I had about 5 months to go before that contract expires..I switched to this offer placed the order..little nervous what's going to happen now...chatted with Verizon to make sure but they said 40$ will be charged just higher speed and apparently no expiration on the price ..not sure all that true..

I got an email afterwards about order confirmation which said this...

Read my post above and check the website to see if you're still under contract. Hopefully it rolled over and the website says that you still have 5 months to go in your new plan.

I have FIOS Gigabit connection with a Gateway router. Currently I have a second cheap router connected to it to extend the wireless range but signal from this second router is slow. Question- if I get a second FIOS Gateway router on ebay for under $100 to replace the cheap router, would that help get higher speed from the second gateway at a reasonable cost? Can two Fios gateway routers be connected together to get gigabit speed from both?

Got my rep to upgrade my backup 50/50 that has a complimentary 100/100 upgrade to the 200/200 with auto pay for $39.99. THANKS!

They also offer 400Mbps for $59.99 instead of the $69.99 they display, so simply ASK for it!

NO, NOT ALL.

I am on an expired grandfathered Triple Play plan. Which includes HBO and Cinemax.
My previously purchased router is already connected to the ONT via ethernet cable, I am currently on 100/100 Internet speed.

I can't upgrade just the Internet speed.

This Mix and Match BS requires me to change my TV plan at the same time. Therefore losing HBO and Cinemax and having to pay separately for them.

I also have to pay an equipment charge to upgrade my STBs.

This "upgrade" will severely increase my monthly bill.

As usual Verizon screws over existing customers.
Thanks for nothing VZ.

Anybody else in the same situation?
Why do you feel entitled to this "free" upgrade when your situation is totally different than what this deal is offering? And what about you trying to screw Verizon for having a grandfathered plan yet expecting an upgrade without cost. You can't have your cake and eat it too.

They said 2-3 hours. Wait about 10 minutes. I also use an Asus Router. Not their junky one. Turn the black ONT (optical fiber box that's the size of 2 shoe boxes roughly) and wait 15 minutes. Same with router. That will force an updated QAM file...
