According to Steamcharts there are about 2300 players are logged on now. That should increase with the new pricing. This should also draw some of the Dead by Daylight players which has been on the rise lately.

No, there's an offline mode but it's not as fun. I tried the other day and it took about 10 minutes to join a game.
