Question:How is this different than the 202?

Answer:This OBi is different from OBi202 that there is a line port connection to the wall jack so you can bridge a landline (PSTN) service as well as a VoIP service together.

They no longer produce this model by Polycom. This is old stocks sold by a third-party company. Therefore, it is named and labeled as Obihai.
It has been on sale several times over the past 6 months on Amazon for less than $50.

As you have probably gathered you can hook up a free phone and a fax on separate lines on the 212 for the price of the initial device with some caveats. If you have a cable or fiber optic internet connection you do not have to worry about weather compromising your voice connection. I live in a rural area and must use a fixed wifi and the voice transmission can sometimes get rough. If you want 911 functionality you have to pay extra each month like <$5/month. Every so many years the Obihai needs a software upgrade that the manufacturer sometimes charges $10-15. The first year you have a warranty which will give you a free software upgrade if it is due that year. To get your free voice most people use Google voice which is free. There are some easy configurations you make at the Obitalk website to initiate the device. It is all quite easy and saves a bunch of money vs. a landline. Hope that helps. Take a look a lonTV [youtube.com] for an involved evaluation.

Not sure if this has been on sale several times in the last 6 months. The link you provided is almost a year old. I have an alert set up for obihai and polycom and never saw a the price at $50. That is my sweet spot and waiting for that deal to come back. $70 seems to be the regular price on this.

The 302 is the successor to the 202. For $50, it looks like a deal, unless you need the POTS support of the 212.

I have never understood the interest in the Obihai adapter. Just buy a SIP phone. SIP phones are cheaper, simpler, and provide more functionality.

These make any phone you currently have work with VOIP.

According to https://www.amazon.com/Obihai-Tec...B008MHTVXA the OBI302 does not support Google Voice.

The OBi3xx line is designed for Service Providers so that they can then deliver them already provisioned to their customers. That's not to say end-user consumers can't buy them. But most OBi buyers (at least on this forum) want them for the Google Voice support.

The OBi3xx line of ATA adapters does NOT support Google Voice.

I don't know where you signed up for alerts, but CCC alerted me the last time in March for a price drop to 46.
