Everything but a central AC unit.

Patiently waiting for the DUAL fuel model, cause I already have a smaller gas powered unit, and I want something more powerful and capable of using propane.

I'm still waiting for them to stop advertising by peak and start advertising by running wattage, but that's a pipe dream. As it is, it's like a food company listing the volume of the container but not the food itself on the packaging.

A few other things might also be out of reach, such as a pool pump, or a large welder, especially if you happen to be powering something else AND one of those things.

But it's likely a 240V dual pole breaker. Most of these smaller inverter generators won't run 240V appliances and AC units.

I could care less if I could weld when the powers out but I might want to use a electric dryer or a well pump. Some shallow wells have 120V pumps but not many of them. I get by with my 2000/2200 inverter generator though and I have a well and a electric dryer. I put a oversized well pressure tank in and I have drinking water on the in the storage room just in case I might need some someday. I can dry my clothes outside if needed.

And a electric dryer and most well pumps but you can get by without them for a few days. If your without power for a week then you and your toilet will get quite ripe smelling. You can find water to pour into the biff and a sponge bath is better than nothing.

I could care less about a well and electric dryers, as I have city water and gas appliances, but I appreciate you adding to the conversation.

Most people go out and get a 12k generator not knowing what they truly need. I ran a $199 generator with max running watts of 2500 watts for several days running (1) 6000 btu window unit AC, 2 full fridges, 1 deep freezer, and lights and fans. Toward the end I shut off things to run my 2 speed pool pump on low for a few hours (110v) and also used the microwave. To get by, you need to know what watts your items consume you can run what you need. IE the average fridge is only around 200w running, if modern. The Window unit is around 600watts. If youre trying to power up your whole house AC unit, its roughly 1 KW per ton, plus double starting watts, so you will need a fairly large generator to start powering those kind of things.
