these weather sense/intelligence rachio(sp) may work in some areas, but if you're in a microclimate area not all too helpful. It's just not possible unless you had a weather station setup on your property.
On the plus side it has remote control, app has some very obvious ui bugs, and yes on override it will be right *some* of the time, but the time to run based on that (and whatever other weather data ) is going to be fundamentally off.
Like most of the smart devices, i've come i spend more time acking the pings, updating the apps, and reading the spam than if i just got out once a week for a few minutes and walked my lawn and manually tested and adjusted with soil testor...and healthier too.

You can shut off the weather sensing features. I think this thing is a game changer and at around $90 on Amazon, it's a complete no brainer over a "dumb" controller (roam or no roam) with a 1990's interface.
There's several glaring ui bugs in orbits app though , Like you really have to dig to find out how long it watered...the screens are all messed up for that until you get into cal, then click into that, the cal totals are wrong but once you click in it's right. I noticed a few more things i forgot, the calender view is broken for that. Smart watering is just strange, some days 1 minute it waters, some 5...i know you can increase the base percentages there to go over or under on certain zones but seems really random.
Rain delay is forward looking, if it rains the day before but is forcast the dry the next week, it will put a delay. <-edit, i mean if it rains today, your watering day is tomorrow and it's forcast dry next few days, it doesn't override. I don't mind that actually too much as you can't water here enough.
But for florida, sandy soil thrirsty st augustine...timer and money with a rain sensor seems best, then manually walk your lawn.
But for the price...yeah remote control, app, if weather sense works for you good, override if not few ui bugs for sure that irritate but not insurmountable, just odd to see and without a flow meter it makes me wonder how much it really watered due to those....not sure i trust it.
