Meh... This thing has been $300 a number of times now. It's time we saw at least an additional $15-20 price drop. With the economy struggling, now would be a good opportunity.

Bought and s4 just before a move...worked flawlessly on the brand new, lower pile carpet at old house. New house had slightly longer pile and the s4 would get stuck in all the time...not physically stuck, but just keep moving around and spinning around in about a 3x3' square. It would then throw an error, you'd move it, it'd work fine for a bit, then do it all over again. Sent back and purchased an s6 Pure and that has worked flawlessly the first two whole house cleanings! And just got updated yesterday for multi-floor mapping if that's a selling point for you.

The S5 at $370 (common sale) is probably a better deal. The S4 struggles with many carpets and rugs.

No updates won't solve the issue. It's not working on carpet unless you have really low pile. I just used on my carpet, failed many times and I returned it and got a S6
it has a carpet boost mode which works on carpet.

Having done SO much research, this is the robot vacuum I've been looking for. LIDAR, large capacity dustbin, and super-strong suction. It has everything I'm looking for, and what an incredible price!

This thing won't go to any high carpets, it struggles with most rugs. It's pretty good if have wood floors.

Have read lots of reviews, videos, comments on slickdeals, reddit, etc, consensus is the 4 has a lot of issues with normal carpet, rugs, and or any level change
