Looking to get a decent touchscreen laptop for the kids school work (5th and 7th grade). Any reason to not get this one?

I think it is good for what you are talking about using it for. The worst things about it will be the screen and the integrated graphics. Gaming capabilities will be limited. Even though you would likely be able to play stuff like Fortnite on low and games from 2016 and older.

People are crapping on it, but I think it is decent at this price. Even good Chromebooks cost 300 to 600 and up. I think it would be really slick at $400, but is not bad at $450.

The ASUS Vivobook that Best Buy had on sale a little while ago had 1080p resolution, 3700U, Vega 10, and 512GB SSD for $50 more. That was a much better buy than this IMHO.

Shame on HP for producing this system with such a low resolution screen. 1920x1080 is what I would prefer at a minimum for a laptop display.
