Any reason the Menards Portmate - $44.49 wouldn't work with a sliding miter saw? I didn't see it addressed in the description maybe I wasn't looking in the right place?

After doing a lot of research, I think they both are the same except the Bora has a tube at the top vs. a curved smooth surface for portmente. I also found them on the Bora website for more pics.

The Bora looks good for the price. Can't decide between the 4000B and 3900B though. Wheels on the 3900B look good but can't really tell what the difference is on the 4000B that justifies the higher price. Really good reviews online for 4000B but can't find the 3900B reviews.

I went for the Bora. After adding to cart, the portmate did not have store pickup only ship to home with $9 shipping. The Bora was only $7 more with store pickup if you factored in shipping. Il do the 11% mail in rebate and recoup some cost. The reviews on Amazon looks good too.

Thanks for sharing. I got the miter saw from your last post, and I am trying to find a stand as well.

What is the advantage of one of thee folding stands vs a small table stand if I do not plan to travel with it?

Love for some experienced folks to weigh in on the value here.

FYI, from what I can tell, the Bora 4000b model also includes wheels:

from the description:

included wheel kit makes relocation around the jobsite a breeze.
Also, the 3900B description specifically mentions 10" saws, whereas the 4000B does not.

Not super easy to tell these stands apart spec wise, but since I just got a 12", I suppose I'll go with the 4000B.

Not too much. You get the support wings on each side for long pieces. You also can find a stop that you can adjust to make repeated cuts of the same length (eg: 2')

I've been on the fence for a while on a stand. I put my saw on a table when needed and use harbor freight roller stands for supporting long pieces. They are like $15 each on sale. Also I use those stands as an out feed for my table saw.

If the ridgid stand even comes down to 99 again, I'll get that. Otherwise I don't see much value in these stands vs my current set up.

Recently got the 4000B. I like it for what it it is and what I paid, but the wheels are completely useless. They're angled when folded up and you have to lift one end of the thing up super high to roll it while it's open and it just feels sketchy. I lift the thing up with the saw on it to move it around, which is fine because I have a 10" non-slider. Could be annoying with a heavier saw.

edit: the included roller is pretty handy, though.

The Menards portamate for $44 has been posted before.

I was in the market as well and finally decided for the $100 harbor freight version with wheels. Luckily I found a
portamate pm7000 at my local habitat for humanity for $100

Great stand and looking at the options it has versus the $44 one I wouldn't suggest to anyone to get the $44. The pm7000 is comparable to the $100 harbor freight one. Spend the extra money and get something like that. You'll be glad you did.

I recently bought a 7.5" Circular Saw and need a working platform for it.
Do you know if this stand for Miter Saw would work for my Circular Saw?
Thanks.
