Is this their starter lineup or their premium, and how to tell the difference?

To be honest with you, I don't have a lot of info on this kit. I was on that site for another reason and saw this on clearance. Figure I would post as it sounded like a pretty good deal.

If I wasn't already neck deep into Ryobi 18v tools, I would have jumped on it.

Other than that, I am hoping someone with more knowledge would comment.

Looks like all the tools [metabo-hpt.com] take the same battery

Including the newer version [amazon.com] of their tool

It's a decent deal. The impact/drill combo will go $99 pretty often. That means you get the saw for $40 (the light sucks, get the better folding light). With 2x 1.5ah batteries you have a decent set.

I own a lot of Hitachi stuff and really like it. Every line has their pros and cons but the warranty can't be beat.

These are their entry level tools. They are comparable to entry tool set from dewalt and Milwaukee. This Metabo is more compact than those Dewalt and Milwaukee. The bad is that Metabo don't have battery gauges on the battery or tool until you move up to higher end models. This is probably the biggest knock on them. Tools are great.
All their li-ion batteries (including their 36v multivolt) will work on their 18v line of tools.
