Not bad deal. I got a few ecobee 5 for $143 though. I don't think there is much of a difference other than the newer sensors and I don't think I would pay $43 for them.

I just got a couple fives for the house. I've owned a Honeywell smart thermostat before but never a thermostat with the add-on sensors. I'm not sure how, but the sensors make a difference in rooms that used to be too hot or too cold.

Not much of a difference between the 4 and the SmartTheromostat (5). Will call this morning to see if my local Costco has it in stock and will probably return the 2 5s from the Amazon deal last week.

I am currently running a Honeywell lyric. Its on a schedule seems to do the job well any reason to upgrade. I guess someone mentioned the sensors. Without vent control I'm guessing it just keeps the system on longer until those rooms achieve set temp.

Called around here in MN (twin cities area) and Maplewood has them for $149. Everywhere else is either outta stock or their normal $169 price. Bummer.

Why can't you? I just bought 3 of newer versions from Amazon for my tri-zone house so would love to know if there are bugs or issues before I try to install all of them.

If your current smart thermostat is in a good location, this isn't much of an upgrade. With ecobee you can place the sensors in other rooms and tell the thermostat which are important to use during any schedule (for example, a bedroom while sleeping). You can have it use only the temperatures of occupied rooms, or switch to away mode when no one is home.

It will work fine if you have multiple HVAC systems, each with its own thermostat and paired sensors. Each will work independently but you can control all from the app. You can also choose to group thermostats so they share schedules or modes. To create groups, login to ecobee.com (not the app) and choose which settings to share.
