That's a good question.

ECCO owns tanneries in the Netherlands, Thailand, Indonesia and China. ECCO's tanneries are among the leading manufacturers of leather to the fashion, sports, and car industries.[3] ECCO has engaged in a research program to reduce the environmental impact of the tanning process. Approximately 98% of ECCO's shoes are produced in its own shoe factories in Portugal, Slovakia, Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam and China, and some under licence in India.

I have three ECCO, and all three are made in different countries. And it is funny that their sizes are all different. I had to exchange the last one that I purchased because of size. I still love ECCO though.

I own quite a few pairs of Ecco shoes. Though I wouldn't say that they're as everlasting as they once were, particularly with respect to the way in which some of their rubber foam soles on their dress shoes crumble and fall apart, and the way in which the soles on their more casual shoes tend to detatch from the shoe, Ecco shoes become a pretty good deal when they have their sales now and again. They're especially great for people whose feet are on the wider side, such as myself.

Can anyone comment on how their soft series casual shoes are compared to say a Puma Suede? They look pretty much the same in terms of structure and comfort except with a nicer material in the upper for the ecco. I'm very familiar with Puma Suedes and find them very comfortable. You can easily get various Puma suedes for $30. I would like to try the eccos at one point but it's hard to justify paying more than triple the price for what looks to be basically a shoe that looks to be no more comfortable but with nicer material.

Thanks, should have thought to post there. I will email the manufacturer directly and see if I can get a breakdown by product. Will post here if I get a response.

Puma's may "look" just as comfortable, but they aren't even in the same league. Guess "looking" at a shoe is good enough for some to judge comfort. Not me.
