This is one small but powerful companion device to your existing garage door opener. It supports Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant voice control and IFTTT. You can check and control your garage door anytime anywhere via Meross app. You can also get alerts when your garage door opens, closes, opens for a long time or is forgotten to be closed at bedtime. -slickdewmaster
I have this. It's one of the best devices that I've purchased. So convenient. Amazon has this on sale quite often. Bought it brand new on Amazon for $25. But it, you won't regret it. Easy to install.
I'm not trying to put on a tinfoil hat. But since so many people worry about Chinese companies having access to their location, phone info, security cams, etc, I thought I should point out this is a Chinese company homebased in Chengdu, China and requires an app which requires account creation and some phone permissions including location. Just a heads up if that bothers you. If not, great.

Great device. I have 3 of these installed for my garages and they work perfectly. It does come with a long senor wire that you can install.
I bought it a few weeks ago based on a similar SD posted here and can't be happier. It just works. You can find the installation instructions here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0gcyJC_WkRk
As for the wire, I bought a pack of cable clips ()https://www.amazon.com/gp/product...UTF8&psc=1 and used glue to stick them to the center beam of the garage door opener. Then ran the sensor wire through the clips.
The integration with Smartthings is a bit wonky as it registered the first time and then failed the second time. But I was able to reset the devices and get them installed again .... now working steady without any issues.
Where does this device get power from? I thought the opener itself, but it says requires 5VDC. Do you have to run a wall wart to it?
EDIT: The one linked on Amazon says 5VDC. The pic on Newegg says 120VAC.
