Scotts Nature Scapes Mulch 1.5-cu ft (Brown or Black) $2 a bag

Retail: $3.98, currently at $2.00 (50% savings)

Brown: https://www.lowes.com/pd/Scotts-C...1001364002

In-store pickup only and these have better reviews than other brand. I just picked up 10 bags myself. Good luck!

Used this last year but color did not last more than two weeks. Shred consistency was good though. But not too sure I would buy again.

It's not as great a deal as last year because they have reduced the bag size to 1.5 cu feet from 2 cu feet. Sneaky.
Thanks for the heads up.

Did you choose in-store pick up online or did you just buy in store?

Triple shred has been my favorite. It used to be regular but they switched to the shred some years ago. Colour lasts entire season but it's normally $5 a bag! Nabbed it on sale for $2.50 at Ace last week.

Are you taking about the black mulch? I'm finding the same issue with the $2 mulch from Walmart.

Yes the black mulch version fades fast.

Hmm, think I'll wait until they reduce the bag size to 1lb and sell it for $2. Smilie

Yep. I need to do the math again; at $2, it was cheaper to get this than to have mulch delivered, and buying bags (while wasteful, I admit), makes it easier to distribute. Plus there's the color (we always buy brown and the color does well). The $2 mulch at Walmart is 2 cubic feet, but I've never used it.

Of course, it's not apples to apples. There's always been talk of these being shredded, chemically-treated pallets and the like. Some folks claim to find nails and stuff in their bags. I've never noticed this. Plus there's the time it to actually go out and get the bags, especially if you're buying a lot. If you don't have a trailer or a truck, it can take a while. Of course, I don't have anywhere I want a giant pile of mulch to be dumped, so the time is worth it to me.

Same here. I thought Lowe's would normally tell me the inventory available at the local store even if it's in-store only. I'm getting "This item is unavailable for purchase online", but it does say in-store only in a grayed out box under that.

Might swing by there tomorrow or this weekend. Price says good until 5/26 and I need a few more bags. I used this brand last year and it lasted for a good amount, doesn't looks so good now though.

Just bought some at Lowe's but it doesn't go far! This is a small bag. All the other mulch I bought were 2 cubic feet. This year I used Scott's (too small), Preen (too chopped up) and Vigoro (just right!)
