National Geographic for Kids has a similar deal for $7. I think I'll pick up that instead.

Wow. There is not much love in this thread. Everyone is welcome to read the Amazon reviews or get a different magazine, but I have had a completely different experience with Highlights magazines. I have three kids who have all loved receiving the magazine every month in the mail. It's probably the only reason for years that they have wanted to walk to the mailbox. We started on High Five and progressed to Highlights. I can't say enough good things about the age-appropriate reading and learning materials. High Five has simple stories, easy poems, basic seek and finds, as well as some creative projects or games. The amount of material is broader and keeps their interest for much longer than most other 2-5 age bracket magazines. A similar statement could be made about the regular Highlights magazine. Well worth the money and time. However, the way Amazon implements magazine orders with auto renew may be disconcerting.

I remember even as a young kid, like 5 years old, being painfully bored of this magazine. Honestly wouldn't keep it in the house for free. Of course I read nat geo and mad magazine so take that for what you will

Same. Never was a fan, even as a kid. My kids were also completely uninterested. Different strokes for different folks.
