Shoddy China TV, like TCL. Get a Samsung, LG or SONY.
Could you count the number of products you currently own that were made in china?

For science.

I absolutely vouch for Hisense and this model is great, but.... Since Best Buy still has their ongoing 40% off Satisfactory conditions sets it would be a disservice to not mention I just bought a Samsung 55in Q80R from BB for $719.99.

I just looked it up and it looks to be available in almost every Best Buy and that kinda confirms they are all display models. Mine did not have the box bit an envelope with all manuals and accessories still wrapped. The TV itself was pristine and labels as display.

No issues going with the Hisense, bit for folks that just want the best for the cheapest price... 700 bucks and change for one of the best TVs in the world.... Isn't bad either.

None in stock in california at all it seems for me. Tried norcal and socal. Also you got a satisfactory for the price of a fair?

Edit: my mistake, was looking at 65" models

I guarantee you are confusing the q80t with the q80r.

Pretty much. Too bad Panasonic is out of the game. They were toe to toe with Samsung when plasmas were still around.

I have an S-series 50in Panasonic plasma from about 7 years ago. I honestly love the TV still. But I live in Vegas and this thing is a farking space heater. I'm tempted to get this just to make my room 5 degrees cooler this summer.

Toe and toe with Samsung? I'm assuming that's a joke since Panasonic plasmas were superior in every way. As a matter of fact Panasonic still makes the best TVs in the world.

For anyone actually wondering about this TV, I've had it for a week now and it is excellent! I don't have any DSE or banding. The color is amazing. I only have a Samsung KU6300 for reference, which for a few year old model has good brightness, great contrast, and really is a good TV (I think it's more like a 7 series Samsung based on today's models).

This TV blows the Samsung out of the water for picture. I used the H9F settings on RTINGS as a starting point to set it up, and I am very happy with it. Watching Altered Carbon in Dolby Vision has been a treat the past few days. I was on the fence about local dimming and deep blacks actually making too much of a difference. Not that I thought it was bad, just that I wouldn't care too much. I'm on board now! So impressed.

I watched some sports last night (reruns) and I didn't see any problems with motion. But some people might be more sensitive to it so I don't want to say there aren't issues. As I said with local dimming above, it may be a case of not knowing what I'm missing. But hockey and soccer looked fine in the little time I watched just to see how the motion was. Movies it looks good too (again, in my opinion).

I was considering a soundbar, but I'm actually pretty impressed with the TV sound. I don't feel the need to go out and get a soundbar. Probably the best sound I've heard directly out of a TV. Voice is clear and it gets plenty loud. I think in Netflix it was pushing 5.1 sound (not Atmos) but I'm interested to see how Atmos works with this TV at some point. I have a full Atmos setup in my basement theater.

I'm sure there would be some improvement with a soundbar, especially with a separate subwoofer, but in my bedroom the need for more sound (and the space the soundbar/sub would take up) doesn't make the gains worth it for me to spend the money.

I can't speak too much to the Android TV aspect. I don't really use it, as my whole house uses FireTV (I also have the recast so it gets used for local channels also). I did play with it a little and it doesn't seem bad, I just prefer FireTV. I use a 4k stick and it worked perfectly out of the box with remote (power and sound), dolby vision automatically, etc.

I have had one issue where my video settings actually got reset to eco-friendly on two different occassions. This was in the first two days. I'm not sure why. But it hasn't happened after those initial two times.

Also as you'll see in some reviews, it is true that while the screen goes to the very edge of the bezel (there is little to no bezel) there is a small border at the edge of the screen. I haven't seen any way to expand the picture into that space, but it is not bothersome to me. Because there is really no bezel, it just seems normal.

Other than those two items which if the first doesn't come back really isn't an issue, I am extremely happy with the TV.

Edit to add: Oh, one last thing. I was worried about buying a TV from Amazon. I'm sure it is a luck of the draw thing with any TV purchase online and shipping. When the TV arrived, I was honestly a bit worried. Every cardboard edge was beat up pretty bad, and there was a large dent right on the front of the box (on the screen side no less). But the packaging from Hisense was great and there was no issue.

Not saying no one will get a broken TV. Just that I was pretty impressed with the packaging and even though mine clearly was not handled with a soft touch through shipping, everything was good because of the interior packaging.

How's the brightness? Upscaling of cable good? Glad to hear there's no DSE, especially when watching hockey. That's a big problem on these lower end TV's with local dimming. Sounds like they improved the motion handling and sound on the 2020 model also, compared to the H8F.
