Great case. I have a meshify, r5, and this case without the glass panel and love all of them.

I have the older define mini-c with the plastic window and I love it. What kind of person has a deal alert for a product they already have? Someone who considers this the only case worth buying. Me.

The case I "wished" I could do, but ended up having to get the huge r6 case (despite wanting a compact one) where I could have a 5.25 bay, fit a mobo with more options, and cut down a bit on heat.

I probably should have just used my external BR drive, be satisfied with 2 ssds, and use the mini.... It's really overblown how much temps matter, anyway. I have a prebuilt that has sat in the FLOOR on carpet and still working with no parts needing replacement in the 7 or 8 years of having it.

I love Fractal Design cases. Especially this Define series. I have the next size larger and it is the quietest case I've ever owned, and looks hella good doing it.

This is the best case that I've ever owned and I say that coming from a full-size tower to a mini-itx case and then to this. It's solidly constructed and feels high quality. I find it to be pretty quiet and cable management is very good.
Note that it doesn't have USB-C on the front and that it only comes with one 120mm fan up front (and one 120mm fan in the back). I recommend installing two 140mm fans for better airflow. Pay attention to the GPU length specs on the Newegg page as 3 fan GPUs may not fit.

Recommend a good ATX case for a silent build?

Also does anyone know if Z390 motherboards (specifically the Gigabyte Designare, but most high-end boards are sold out) will be in stock in the next couple weeks? It seems there's been a shortage bc of the pandemic, but the Z490 and 10th generation hardware also just came out, so I'm worried the 9th gen motherboards might never be sold again... don't want to build 10th gen for various reasons.

it has 2 120mm, front and back... plenty for most.

case prices are ridiculous right now. got this case for $60 over 2 years ago. Fractal cases in particular never go down in price, it seems.

Where do you guys buy Windows so it's not prohibitively expensive? I'd like to build a gaming PC, but $139 for Windows 10 "kills the deal." I can't come close to making the price of parts (forget about the labor) on par with a pre-built gaming PC, that obviously already comes with Windows 10.

two options:

if you haven't done it yet, you can have one install linked to your Microsoft id
if you have any Win 7,8 keys - they transfer fine

(also you can install from a distribution media and just leave it unactivated - if you don't mind the watermark.
