Same deal Costco had for a long time. The i5 version of the Surface Pro 7 is plagued with issues though. Think it has to do with the passive cooling design. I returned mine.

Mine has been working great aside from the battery (I get maybe 5 or 6 hours) and temperatures never above 45c
I am planning to pull the trigger on this with a old laptop trade in(showing 150$ for my 5 yr old Lenovo yoga).. this is for a middle schooler, and home internet browsing.. pls advice if this fits the bill..

Honestly, as someone who owns a PC repair shop. I wouldn't. What's the issue with the yoga? Surface pro's are non serviceable. And no matter how careful a user can be things happen. Had a few pro 5's come in over the last few months with dead dad's and are now paper weights

Thank you for the response.. Yoga is 7 yrs(Typo earlier) old and giving up with battery performance and slowness.. I will rethink now
Got my middle schooler Acer Swift 1 for $189, couldn't be more happier. I like it so much that I bought another one for my elementary going son as it seems that most of education will be distant for sometime now. I have XPS 15 but find myself using Swift 1 for it's portability and light weight and long battery life, sure it cannot do heavy lifting, but for that I usually remote into my server.

I have Surface Pro 3 i5 and has worked flawlessly. Have used it for light development and what not, you can plug it a monitor or keyboard in school or office setting.
Only problem is screen size can become very uncomfortable to work for longer duration.
