Is this a good deal? Haven't been looking for a while
Yes, with what's currently available. The mega boom 2 is available at Costco with a $40 off coupon for $109.... so for $10 more you get the newer version. Reviews said the sound quality is better with the 3 in comparison to the 2, but honestly, I've never found any issues with any of the UE BOOM's I've owned. They're great little speakers.
One of the highest rated Bluetooth speakers out there. This one has a nice advantage of also being very portable, waterproof and the ability to purchase multiple speakers for stereo or party mode., Target has the same price right now, but this one has the included charging base makes this a slickdeal. In for another one - thanks OP.

For what's it's worth, I just got the UE Megaboom Remix 2+Power Up that's currently at Costco for $109.99. It says Model S-001711 on the bottom, and advertises itself over Bluetooth as a Megaboom 3. It looks identical to the Megaboom 3 in every way.
Given that the Costco deal also includes the Power Up wireless charging dock for free, it seems like a better deal for Costco members.
Also, when setting up via the Ultimate Ears app, there is no option for a Megaboom 2 (or even a Megaboom Remix 2). Only Megaboom 3. I chose the MB 3 when setting up my Remix 2, and it appears in the app as a Megaboom 3 after setup.

It's an okay deal. Personally, I've never been real impressed with these UE speakers for their price points. The LG PK7 has recently been $99.99 several times the past several months and I would take that every day of the week and twice on Sunday over the Megaboom 3.
And here's a good review and sound test comparing the Boom 3 and Megaboom 3 to the JBL Charge 3 and Xtreme. The JBL speakers totally mop the floor with the UE speakers. UE speakers are light on bass and lack clarity and detail in the mids and highs. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OtCvD3Cnpco

Not being sarcastic - are you an audiophile? I ask because I own several of the UE products as well as the JBL C3 and we (my wife, family, etc) all did a "blind test" on music played over both and could not discern a difference. Yes, me forcing them to do this irritated them all. Anyway This just coming from a group of audio laypeople, but

Not at all. I've had UE speakers in the past and just don't care for their bland sound signature. The difference in sound from say the UE Boom 3 and the JBL Charge 3 is VERY noticeable. They have very different sound signatures. I can't see how anybody could think they sound the same, but everybody hears things a little different.

I suppose that's true. Thanks for the thoughtful response!

But the Extreme 2 (at $250) seems to be more than double the price of Magaboom 3 (at $120)?

I am unable to checkout as it keeps saying the free charging dock (white color) is "not available in the store you selected". I have even tried selecting the option of free shipping but the message does not change
Update: I was able to get the deal

The specs for the Megaboom Remix 2 [ultimateears.com] and the Megaboom 3 [ultimateears.com] appear identical. There is was never a Megaboom 2, as far as I am aware, and as far as I can tell the Megaboom Remix 2 is a Megaboom 3, that's sold exclusively at Costco.
Given that the Costco deal also includes the Power Up wireless charging dock for free, it seems like a better deal for Costco members.
