I bought this last time it was at this price 2 weeks ago, and today I finally got to nail the baseboards, and it worked awesome. I'm no expert, just a DIY'er. It has a setting if you want the nail flush with the finish, or deeper, and that worked pretty nice. I also bought a Ryobi to Dewalt battery adapter, and been using my dewalts batteries.
I have purchased Ryobi Drill, Table Saw and Sawzall from Direct Tools. All were either CPO or Factory Blem. Have had no issues with any of them. They all seemed brand new to me. They do stamp "blem" pr something on them fairly inconspicuous. This brad mailer is currently $67.99.

You can find batteries also on the site. If the item doesn't have a "20-70%" off tag, wait. The item discount usually goes on and off every week or so.
Damn you Bonk!!! LOL. You're right that if you're using smaller nails, alternating the angles improves the holding, but I'm usually the guy that comes in several years later and has to remove and reinstall that piece for some repair or flooring or something - easy to do with straight nails, a real headache with alternately angled ones.

Would really like to have a finish nailer. Anyone used this finisher and has had good luck with it? Might even grab the Brad nailer if these 2 are worth the money.
I only own grease gun and impact wrench of the ryobi line but wanting to get more into it.

Brad nailer gets fantastic reviews. My buddy has one and loves it. How is the grease gun? I have a dewalt but its wassaay overkill for DIY.

Wish it had variable speed trigger but works well greased our corn planter through 1400 acre season on 1 battery and about 7 grease tubes on 1 4 Ah battery

I have the brad and the angled 15GA, the brad nailer is incredible...have had no issues with it so far. Have done everything from minor couch frame repairs to a few rooms worth of shoe moulding.

The 15GA is a bit more finnicky, but works well as long as you dont start it on the highest pressure settings.

I used my brothers Ryobi finish nailer to put in some base boards, and fell in love! So much easier/better than whipping around a hose. I went out and bought my own after.

I have the 18 gauge Brad nailer and love it. I have done so much stuff around the house with it. It is very convenient and works flawlessly. This tool got me into the Ryobi tool system. I want the 16 gauge but don't have a use for it now. The one I have does everything I need it to.

Would the brad nailer work for base boards or would I have to get the finish nailer?

I've seen a couple kinds of those adapters. Do they work pretty well?

I've used brad nails on show molding, quarter round, and crown molding without issue, but I would angle my nails alternating the angle (think of making an X with the nails). That being said, I don't own one of these yet and my experience was with pneumatic nailers.

I do have about 9 or 10 that are Ryobi. Have had little to no issues with any of there tools.

I used it twice now, and I haven't had any issues. I hope it lasts long. I used both of my 2Ah and 5Ah 20v batteries.
