I had a prior model Anker pack. Charged fine but completely failed when I needed it to jump a dead battery. Contacted Anker customer service via their website and got no response. So poor quality item and non-existent CS, no more Anker for me. I've had good luck with Noco packs and will stick with them.

Audew makes the best portable jump starters.

I bought the highly reviewed AutoGen Jump Starter that has 18000mAh, 1500 Amp with LCD information display, Boost mode, and LED light/LCD Backlight for about $65 on eBay recently. Sold out at that price for the moment, but it's not too much higher on Amazon ($75.99). Or you can wait until it appears on eBay again for that price. The seller at the time had a lot of them but sold out eventually. Read the reviews on Amazon for this one. I did a lot of reading and thinking before settling on this particular starter.

Unless, you're into the Batteryless Super Capacitor type jump starters. That's a different animal but might be worth considering if you are concerned about carrying around a Lithium Battery pack in your car on a hot day (they've been known to explode and cause fires on occasion). The Super Capacitor type jump starter avoids the risk. And you don't need to pre-charge them, either.

I also have the previous generation model. I needed it yesterday to jump a dead battery and it failed as well. I had to jump it with a second car and regular jumper cables. I won't get another Anker for this purpose.

10,000mah is just such a tiny amount of energy for what it has to do, i have tried several in that class and they never hold up on bigger engines. Even 12,000 like this deal seems light. The only ones that ive had work reliably are the 20,000 and up models. I know the mah and the starting amps shouldnt be related, but they way they put the cells together in these smaller packs just never cuts it.

Hi can you just charge it at home and it's ready to go? Or do you need to use cigarette adapter to power it on?

Which jump starter are you asking about? The AutoGen, or the Super Capacitor type?

If you're asking about the AutoGen, then yes, you can charge it at home (AC adapter is included with the kit) and it's ready to go anytime. It also comes with a cigarette lighter plug that you can use to charge it up, or to keep it charged. It should keep a charge for at least 6 months or so, maybe even up to a year or more. But keep in mind, as with any/all jump starters with a lithium battery, there is a small risk of explosion or fire in a hot car left out in the summer heat. Also, these type of batteries are far less efficient in very cold weather also. For that reason, the super cap type are more reliable, however, you have to have enough juice in the car battery you want to jump in order to charge up the caps. Otherwise, you can use another car's battery to get a charge into the caps (or use the cigarette lighter plug that comes with it, which is easier), then hook it up to the car you want to jump. Generally the super cap type starter will get a full charge and ready to go in about 3 minutes or less. If you have any more questions, just ask. I'll be glad to share what I know about these (did a lot of research).

I also bought the Super Cap Jump Starter from TSRER. but at the moment they're sold out on Amazon. Here's a link to this starter:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product...UTF8&psc=1

There are other super cap starters available however:

https://www.amazon.com/Rezervo-RZ...B07YCQWYL9

https://www.amazon.com/autowit-Po...B01MYFCWV4 (this one has an extra 15% off at the moment, so probably would be a very good buy at the discounted price of $110.50)

Then get this one. It's the best one on the market.

$100 is about the price (aside from some sort of clearance deal) that you need to hit to get something reliable that can also handle bigger engines (when i say that i mean bigger than 4cyl compact cars). I have bought and returned a few from amazon thinking I got a deal, but when I tested it with a usb power meter the internal capacity just wasnt close to the claim.

Because the guy is very thorough with his product testing and appears to be very honest.

Good video review, but one important point is missed. Let wait 6 month, placed that lithium batteries in the trunk after fully charge. Any luck to start a car engine after that? Do you see something unusual in described situation?
