Just to point out the difference, they are a male and female version of adapters. The 11.99 needs another HDMI cable to plug in but the 12.99 plugs in directly.

Just to point out the difference, they are a male and female version of adapters. The 11.99 needs another HDMI cable to plug in but the 12.99 plugs in directly.

Was about to purchase until I saw that review too... so strange. I'm guessing the tech is not there yet to have a smaller HDMI side for 60Hz...

Edit: I bought the adapter for the same price about a month ago and it has been absolutely flawless for 4K @ 60Hz on my HP EliteBook. Was about to buy another for a MBA, but I figure my stay-at-home order is coming to an end so I can wait.

Also, I believe the 12.99 version can handle Samsung Dex if Linux on your mobile phone is your cup of tea.

EDIT: Here's a bit of biscuit with your tea. It appears both version support Samsung Dex.
