Plus $10 a month for the router rental
10 bucks isnt for the router, its not even for the modem - its for the Fiber to ethernet converter box that you cannot buy. Thats why even if you have your own compatible modem/router they can still charge you the $10.

Just wanted to share my experience on the line with AT&T.

I have their Internet 1000 and a wireless line with them (which I will be switching in the near future).

1. Definitely just ask for the customer loyalty department, the normal customer service representatives will not be able to apply the appropriate discounts.
2. You need to tell them that you're not satisfied with the price and you're considering switching.
3. Be patient... it can take up to an hour to get everything sorted.

My outcome: I was able to reduce my 70/month bill to 59.99, but I also got the internet equipment fee removed (a savings of 7 dollars). So, I effectively reduced my bill to 53ish dollars a month. Additionally, I received 30 dollars in credits and a prorated bill for this month. All in all, I think that I will come out just below the 49.99 a month deal... for a year.

Note: My customer loyalty rep said that the rate was good for one year, then I will jump to the 99.99. So, I told her we will talk in a year, haha.

Forgot to add: HBO Max for a year.. which is really nice.

You may get that wifi speed if you have new wifi6 router and your devices support wifi6.
I am using the model cum router box provided by att and they told me it is latest one they provide. Even tech came out and change it and he couldn't fix the prob

Anyone try to start service online and after entering SSN get a "call to order" message. I have no credit issues so was wondering why I got this...

Tried calling to continue order and they claimed to have no info on my order or why I got the message. They wanted to run my credit AGAIN in order to try and set up service.

Hit me with a hard inquiry but no reasoning telling me why I could not proceed with my online order.
I had forgotten it was a hard hit and that I had frozen my credit everywhere. Make sure you unfreeze so it can be approved.

I previously had a bundle with U-Verse Basic TV and 100mbps Internet for $49.99 (plus taxes and fees) per month. My 12 month promo was ending this month, so I called them to renegotiate. They hooked me up with the 1gb Fiber and the same TV package for $48.99, plus the HBO Max free for a year. Basic TV is essentially just local channels, but even just bundling that TV package makes the Internet package cheaper in my market.

I've had nothing but positive experiences dealing with AT&T U-Verse for TV/Internet since switching from Spectrum (which was terrible).

Signed up for ATT Fiber last year. Worst ISP ever. Installation was botched, took them almost 1 month to finally send someone competent to fix it. Fiber is very finicky and must be installed by a good, knowledgeable tech. I thought problems were over, but the latency on their network was just awful. Constant complaints from my wife and kids. Lastly, I had to reset their (enormous) gateway modem/router contraption once or twice a week. Had a houseful of streamers that were mad at dad for getting "cheap" internet. LOL. Anyhow, went back to Comcast as soon as the promo period was over with ATT, and as much as I hate Comcast, the internet service is rock solid (again). Never again.

There are taxes but no device fee or anything !
Total under $55
Isn't that a lot of taxes and fees? I pay about 50 cents taxes and fees on my 30/month Comcast internet.

Are your wired speeds OK? Plugged in with a cable and a gigabit network card?

Thank you for posting this. I've been an ATT customer for a few years. I called asking about this and got it for $39.99 for a year, $59.99 after, no contract. $50 for gigabit is a really slick deal, through in HBO max. : )

Bye bye cable.

Did your PC connected directly to AT&T gateway, or through a non-Gigabit router/switch in between? I didn't have a wifi6 rounter. My home PCs in each rooms are all CAT5-connected via a Gigabit switch, then AT&T gateway. Wired test show I have 930Mbps down and 920Mbps up.

I directly connected my laptop to att gateway. Laptop has gig card so it not the issue. Speed is so fluctuating... Sometimes get 600 to 700 and in few minutes it goes 100 to 300
