I'm trying to call the 800 288 2020 number but I guess they are closed on Sunday, anyone have maybe another number I could call or maybe a chat option?
That is the same number I called into on Friday afternoon.

I called today with the number on my bill. Asked directly for the customer retention dept, like others have posted. Told the nice customer service rep that my current promo plan is ending and wanted to check for other promos before cancelling. The rep offered the $50 1G + free HBO automatically without me asking.
Got the confirmation email immediately after that stated the changes and fees. No equip fee in the charges. Total monthly price with tax shows $54.62

Even if we are on a promo already? i'm on the $70/month promo and retention team would not budge.
I was referring to HBO Max part only. I believe it's available to anyone on 1Gbit plan.

I'm getting around 300mb on speed test, never above 450mb. This still doesn't fix the always laggy connection while streaming anything
You might need a new AT&T gateway, and most likely a new-er router. Try connecting to AT&T gateway with ethernet cable and running a speed test.

Update: I called the 800 listed on my bill (paper/PDF) and the CS said it's only for new customer. I asked CS to connect me with retention team. The retention team CS is very nice and put me on hold to change my existing 1Gb fiber plan pricing to $49.99 for 12 months. I am in Atlanta region with existing AT&T 1Gb fiber only service and was paying $80/month.
Exactly same story here in Houston !
My 12 month promo expired last month and they charged me $80 for this month.
I called them to cancel the connection and they sent me to the Loyalty team and that guy gave me the 1 Gbps plan for 49.99 + free HBO Max !
Now, the only issue is, no matter what I do, I can't get more than 500 Mbps on a wired connection directly to their Gateway !!!
Tried everything with the Tech support lady (e.g. power recycled the white Fire Optics box, then Gateway BG210-700 and finally even my laptop) but nothing more than 500 Mbps !
She said they have to send a tech person and I was like..."wait a min, just send me a new Gateway and I'll replace it myself, no need to send someone home"...lol
I can live with 500 Mbps for now but there is no way I can live with Corona...lmao

Another question here, if I were to cancel AT&T, how would I got about returning the router? I was told by a rep once that you can return it at a AT&T store is that true?

The last time I had AT&T, it was a nightmare to return it as the UPS store didn't have my account number. I eventually had to ship it back on my own with a shipping label from USPS.

Anyone can confirm the final price of this deal? 49.99+10+TAX/FEE. The question is how much is this TAX/FEE.
Was told, the previous $80 deal is for everything, you just pay $80, no extra fee.
There are taxes but no device fee or anything !
Total under $55

I'm concerned abut this ATT Router as well, hopefully it's not as bad as it was described. I mean we're paying $120 a year for it. Worse case scenario is we can bridge it/ip pass through to another better router, more of a hassle since there are now 2 routers but oh well.
You can always run a router bypass using a managed switch, or another router to avoid double nat

Anyone try to start service online and after entering SSN get a "call to order" message. I have no credit issues so was wondering why I got this...

Tried calling to continue order and they claimed to have no info on my order or why I got the message. They wanted to run my credit AGAIN in order to try and set up service.

Hit me with a hard inquiry but no reasoning telling me why I could not proceed with my online order.

That would definitely piss me off. Main reason I am hesitant in first place is the hard inquiry.

I had the 100mb internet, got it last year. Chatted with a CSR online 2 weeks ago, got the 1000mb plan and router/other fee waived. I did have to pry a little on the fee getting removed. He came back with "today is your lucky day, Andrew!" Should be $50 a month, coupled with the deep discounts got on my 4k DTV I'm only supposed to see a $64 combined bill...which would be sweet.

Anyway, I have a question. Never really cared that much about speed, wish I would have paid more attention, because I'm only seeing 350-400 max download on wifi. I'll check Ethernet tonight. I live in a 2 level house, 2000 square feet. We've ALWAYS had trouble with wifi and things like Facebook, pages stalling out especially on Facebook. Are most of you able to get what you need, WIFI wise, out of one router/wifi or combo? I mean I have the ATT wireless unlimited data, too, so it isn't a deal breaker but its aggriavting. I just have whatever ATT installed last year, haven't even really looked. Thanks for any suggestions...just curious if one router does the trick for most people with 2000 sqt homes...well hell, 2 rooms away I end up taking off wifi when getting on facebook, that seems ridiculous.

Well it depends on the router and how good it is. Currently I have the Google Wifi mesh pucks from 2016 and while I have great coverage, the radios top out on the data throughput with having 20+ devices connected at once. Considering upgrading to the new wifi 6 routers. My ethernet gets full speed.
