it comes down to quality. My sons Scout troop runs the Alps Mermacs ... they have held up to boy use for years. Colmans seems always leaked after 2-3 yrs. And try getting Coleman to help with broken parts .... Alps is very responsive when a boy breaks a pole. Outside of a TENT taking a tennis ball in lighter fluid "On Fire" ... they have been very durable. (True Story)
I have the 5 man so I can stand up in it to change .... the boys run the 3 and 4 man.
Good brand, good quality ... IMO

This would work if you wanted a car camping tent on a budget. Keep in mind ALPS tents are usually really heavy
