Ares, Neiko etc are much cheaper but are of course made in Taiwan, not Germany.
I don't think you will have issues with these sockets vs. the Hazets.
In fact, if you have $40-50 to spend on an impact socket set for your household wheel rotations etc, I would recommend something like the Neiko 02453A kit, that includes sleeved impact sockets for most popular sizes + torque sticks that allow you to tighten your lug nuts with your impact wrench really close to (stick) rated specs w/o risking stripping stuff.
Ofc hand-starting is always crucial, and perhaps verifying torque with a torque wrench is always recommended, BUT, torque sticks beats going "by ear/feel" every time and overall I think are safe. Most tests put them around 3~5% under the spec, which is not bad, considering that most torque wrenches are accurate within 2-3%.
Note that most impact sockets have thicker walls, and often the plastic sleeves add to that. If thin chrome sockets for your hand-tools don't fit with lots of room to spare in your particular rims, there are good chances that thicker impact or sleeved impact sockets might not fit. YMMV.

At $80 + a set, it would be hard for me to justify these vs Chinese or Taiwanese brands. All of them should do the job... but there is a bit of difference in the plastic outer shell. The Hazet sockets have been fairly well reviewed - and at this price, they're worth consideration for people that spend extra money on premium tools. And, again, this isn't Hazet that's outsourced to a factory in Asia... it's Hazet made in Germany. So, if you value that, then this is a very good deal... if you don't care, then it's hard to argue not going with Harbor Freight alternatives (I'd recommend Harbor Freight over the other brands you mentioned that are typically sold on Amazon... given HF's very good lifetime warranty on hand tools).

If you have aftermarket wheels, chances are you're using aftermarket nuts/bolts with a special socket where this isn't needed.
