Was only $20 more WITH a tool not very long ago. I can't imagine spending $129 on just batteries.
Per the Home Depot link given above, that free tool deal is still active. It should work in-store, so if you find one of these starter sets on clearance at your store, you could probably pick up one of those Octane tools for free.

Is the free tool deal available in store? I haven't been in a home depot for like 2 months
Found the battery and a circular saw in a local home depot. I tried the self checkout, the price was not adjusted. Took it to the counter and I was told this battery kit does not apply free tool offer in store. One reason could be that the battery web page does have only internet number no store sku. Here is the offer details from the page, this does not list the store SKU for the battery kit, while it does list the tools store sku.
Brickseek showed me 3 in stock, and on clearance, at my local homedepot. So I went to check it out. I found a package of 2, 3.0 ah batteries for $169. Went to the desk to inquire and was told they do not stock the product that brickseek said was in stock.

The links were added after my comment, and according to multiple comments the free tool offer doesn't seem to apply. Good call on checking that though, that would have definitely been SLICK!

So maybe some brickseek confusion. Don't know why anyone would downvote this post though. It's clearly ymmv. Worth the try. Thanks op.
Strange my Home Depot has the 3.0 kit you linked that said it was the free tool deal. Last time I saw them they were 139 on clearance. Maybe I will try this afternoon
I bought this (with Circular Saw) in March (when the sale was active - see previous front page post from that time) for $149.
After using it once, I returned it. Here is my reason for it: Octane battery has some internal control where it stops working at about 150F and will start working once temp returns to about 120F. Cutting 2x4s - at about 10th 2x4 the saw stopped working. Wait for 20-30 minutes for it to cool. After that it would cut another 10 2x4s before it would need recharging.
I had about 70 2x4s to cut - with these batteries and saw - what should have taken 20 minutes took two days as each battery could cut 18 to 20 2x4s (with waiting for cooling) and then had to charge both batteries (hours).
Returned and bought Makita Saw which claims to cut 610 2x4s on one charge!
Being able to to check battery level and temperature through bluetooth and mobile app was cool though.
