Thanks; decided to get it at Amazon [amazon.com] with free Prime Shipping.

I just noticed a few ant hills around my property today while mowing the grass so this deal is serendipitous. Not too happy with the overall product rating at Fakespot though; seems like the product has quite a few fake positive [fakespot.com] reviews...

Just leave them alone to go about their business.
The ant hills are pretty close to the house and I had a huge carpenter ant infestation (At least I think they were; large black ants) on my front porch last year so leaving them alone and not being vigilant wouldn't be prudent IMO. I also realize that carpenter ants make their nest inside wood; just trying to avoid another type of ant infestation.

Believe me, I would prefer to leave mother nature alone but considering I had an infestation previously and 2 apple trees that are about 25 feet away from the house I want the peace of mind that the "The Crawling Legion Of Black Doom" is gone for good... (Got rid of them with by using these [amazon.com])

This is the best stuff. I've used a ton of different types and brands of ant bait. This is hands down, the best.

FYI, if you wait till the end of the year or the beginning of the new year, Walmart usually clear out all their old home and garden stuff for the coming spring. You can find this for a couple bucks. I usually wait and stock up on all my garden needs for the upcoming year

After trying many store bought products, I found the absolute best ant treatment to be what the pros use: Taurus SC [amazon.com] (which is generic Termidor). It's used for ants as well as termites, but for ants, you spray the exterior of the perimeter of your house one foot up and one foot out. Each treatment lasts for 6+ months, so if you live in the north, you only have to spray annually, each spring. Read the Amazon reviews on it -- great stuff. I haven't had an ant in our house in years since I started using it, and used to have a carpenter ant problem due to the woods in our backyard. It's expensive, but highly concentrated and one jug will probably last you 10 years.

I would recommend checking out domyown first as on some items they are cheaper than amazon and specialize in professional products.

I've heard nothing but good things about Taurus SC but its relatively high price always scared me away. But the more I think about it, Taurus SC seems to be the most long-term economical and effective solution for ant control.

Both of you have convinced me; I'm going to try canceling my Amdro order at Amazon and apply the $10 to purchasing Taurus SC at Domyown. At $43.50 shipped with no taxes and payment via PayPal I'm comfortable making the purchase. Thanks to both of you for the excellent advice; it's appreciated.

Is there an alternative to this that you know of that works as well? I live in NY, and neither Amazon or domyown will ship here.

What do you recommend outside perimeter? I have few roaches, bugs crawling into the house. TIA.

FYI, I have used Bifen XTS until last week.

Don't know of an alternative except for Termidor which is the same active ingredient. But look for Taurus SC on Ebay and through Google shopping. You'll probably find a smaller store that doesn't know about the NY restrictions and will ship it to you anyway.

Yes, I've found online pest control stores and ebay to sometimes be cheaper on professional pest control products than Amazon. Good point.

I've used this for years at my house in the Pinelands in NJ. It's wiped out all the carpenter ants including the nests in the trees. I would def recommend it.
